Sri Dhakshinamoorthi Navarathnamalika Sthothram – Lyrics and meanings

I shall meditate upon supreme Lord Dhakshinamoorthi who is adorned in crescent moon on matted hair locks, he is seated under the shade of Vatavriksha/Peepal tree, he is surrounded by illustrious Rishis and Sages, his lotus hands are in Chinmudhra posture which symbolizes imparting supreme wisdom and  knowledge, I shall always meditate upon Lord Dhakshinamoorthi who is serene, he has the luster of autumn moon, he is adorned in crescent moon on matted hair locks, he is adorned in Chandhra and Surya as magnificent earrings, he has the luster of full moon, he holds Veena, sacred scriptures, Akshamala, in one hand, and other hand in Chinmudhra posture which imparts supreme wisdom and knowledge, I shall always meditate upon Esha, whose lotus feet are worshiped by Lord Indhra and deities, he has the luster of camphor, his eyes has the resemblance to lotus flower petals, he spreads the coolness of camphor, he is too compassionate, he is adorned in crescent moon on matted hair locks, he is eternal and he is store house of virtues.  I shall meditate upon supreme Lord Dhakshinamoorthi who is seated on the majestic throne made of precious yellow metal, he is charismatic and he has attractive stature, he is adorned in crescent moon who is the consort of Devi Rohini, he has supreme radiance and he symbolizes auspiciousness.   I shall meditate upon supreme Lord Dhakshinamoorthi who has the radiance of sun of early hours of dawn, he has three eyes, he has lustrous forehead, he is adorned in munjja grass, he has pleasing disposition, he is seated under the shade of Vatavriksha, his eyes as crimson colored, he is seated on the skin of leopard, he symbolizes absolute Bhramam, he is safest heaven to the worshiper who are surrended at his lotus feet, he eradicates all kinds of fears and anxieties.  I shall meditate upon supreme Lord Dhakshinamoorthi whose hands are in Chinmudhra posture, I shall earnestly pray to Lord Shiva to reside in my intellect always, he is primordial deity, he is universal preceptor who is modest and kind but more dignity, he is supreme preceptor, he is most charming, and he has attractive smile on face.  I shall meditate upon Lord Shiva who has attractive matted hair locks, he is adorned in crescent moon on matted hair locks, he has three eyes, he is the Lord of Indhu, he has four powerful arms, he symbolizes supreme wisdom and knowledge, he holds Akshamala, sacred scriptures, and colossal fire.  I shall meditate upon supreme Lord Dhakshinamoorthi along with Girisutha/daughter of Mount Himavan, who is seated on the left, she is in the firm embrace of Lord Shiva, she holds blue lotus flower and she is adorned in crescent moon on attractive hair locks, she remains in the firm embrace of Lord Shiva, she carries sacred scriptures and golden vessel of nectar, her one hand in Chinmudra posture, she symbolizes supreme wisdom and knowledge and she imparts the same, she holds prayer beads of pearl Akshamala.  I shall meditate upon Lord Dhakshinamoorthi who is Universal preceptor, he is primordial, he symbolizes fortune and happiness, he is seated under the shade of Vatavriksha, he symbolizes supreme wisdom and knowledge, and his lotus hands are in Chinmudhra posture.
