Devi speaks “ Oh! Sadhu/saintly one, Oh! Mahadeva/mighty Lord, Oh! Sureshvara who is Lord of Lords, kindly describe the highly propitious hymns praising the sacred armor of Goddess Mathangi, which provides all kinds of religious fervor.”


Eshvara replies “ Oh! Devi, listen to me carefully, I shall narrate the highly auspicious and confidential hymns praising the splendor of sacred armor of Goddess Mathangi, it should be recited in complete silence, Sri Mathangi Kavacha sthothra was composed by Rishi Dhakshinamoorthi, it has Virat as Chandhass, presiding deity is supreme Goddess Mathangi, and it is recited to attain Chathurvargaphala/Dharma, Arththa, Kama and Moksha. I shall prostrate before supreme Goddess Mathangi,  I shall earnestly pray to Goddess Mathangini to protect my head, I shall earnestly pray to Goddess Bhavani to protect my eyes, I shall earnestly pray to Thotala/wrathful, who symbolizes sacred hymns, to protect my ears, I shall earnestly pray to Goddess Thripura to protect my face, I shall earnestly pray to Mahamaya to protect my throat, I shall earnestly pray to Maheshvari to protect my heart, I shall earnestly pray to Thripusha who has the appearance of blue lotus flower to protect my side ways, I shall earnestly pray to Kameshvari to protect my internal  and reproductive organ, I shall earnestly pray to Chandi to protect my thighs, I shall earnestly pray to Harapriya to protect my shanks, I shall earnestly pray to Mahamaya to protect my feet, I shall earnestly pray to Kuleshvari to protect all limbs, I shall earnestly pray to Vaishnavi to protect each and every limbs, section, division, and subdivision, I shall earnestly pray to Goddess Mathangi to protect the flow of dripping honey like sacred names, I shall earnestly pray to Mahapishachini to protect my eye brows and forehead, I shall earnestly pray to Sumukhi to protect by eyes, I shall earnestly pray to Devi to protect my nose, I shall earnestly pray to Mahapishachini to protect my face always, I shall earnestly pray to Lajja to protect my fame and reputation as well, I shall earnestly pray to Sammarjanakari who is purifier to protect my lips, I shall earnestly pray to supreme Goddess who symbolizes sacred syllables to protect my chin and neck areas, I shall earnestly pray to Mahadevi to protect my splendor, I shall earnestly pray to Sarvadha who is the savior as well fortunate one to protect my heart, I shall earnestly pray to Lola to protect my navel, I shall earnestly pray to Kalika to protect my eyes, I shall earnestly pray to Chamunda to protect my stomach, I shall earnestly pray to Karthyayani to protect my reproductive organ, I shall earnestly pray to Ugrathara to protect my internal  and reproductive organ, I shall earnestly pray to Ambika to protect my feet, I shall earnestly pray to Sharvani to protect my arms, I shall earnestly pray to Chandabhooshana who is passionate, fierce, zealous and beloved consort of Lord Bhairava to protect my heart, I shall earnestly pray to supreme Goddess who is the mother of Universe and its living beings to protect my tongue, I shall earnestly pray to Pushtika who is the source of nourishment to protect from East, I shall earnestly pray to Vijaya who symbolizes success to protect from South, I shall earnestly pray to Medha to protect me from west, I shall earnestly pray to Sudhaya to protect from south-west, I shall earnestly pray to Lakshmana who symbolize good fortune and excellence to protect from north , I shall earnestly pray to supreme Goddess who symbolizes auspiciousness to protect me from north-east,  I shall earnestly pray to Suresha to protect me from south-east, I shall earnestly pray to Bagala to protect me from the upper side, I shall earnestly pray to Mahadevi who is most promising to deities to protect me from elevated areas, I shall earnestly pray to supreme Goddess who is eternal, entice the whole Universe and embodied as Universe to protect from lower regions, I shall earnestly pray to supreme Goddess who is the essence of Pranava, she is a great illusionist, she symbolizes amorous sport and sacred grass, she is eulogized with sacred hymns by wise and intellectuals, she has originated from fire, she is inseparable from Lord Shiva, she has attained half of the body of her consort, to protect me always, Oh! Devi, these are glorious hymns praising the sacred armor of Goddess Mathangi which are highly confidential and auspicious in the three worlds,  and it is inaccessible too, whoever reads or listens to it on regular basis would attain immense wealth, auspiciousness, prosperity, opulence, richness,  and good fortune, it should be recited with specific rite after the veneration of preceptor, it provides all kinds of auspiciousness, excellence in speech, and poetic skills, she is eternal bliss who is worshiped by Bhrama, Vishnu and Rudra, and all the deities, worshiper would be relieved from the evil effects caused by the changes in the planetary positions, evil spell of Bhramarakshasa and Vethala, worshiper who adore the sacred armor would attain all religious fervor, worshiper would attain abundance of meritorious reward like long life, wealth, opulence,  richness, supreme wisdom and knowledge, worshiper who recites of listens to the sacred armor praising supreme Goddess Mathangi, followed with the intense devotion and faith to preceptor, would attain all kinds of religious fervor.”
