Chapter – 21 -Sur -Vinaya – Pathrika – All Jeevas are bound by the sufferings and grief of worldly existence like the crocodile

Sri Surdas Maharaj speaks “ Oh! Prabho, you can’t bear to watch your devotees in distress, you are an ocean of mercy, when the Gajendra was caught on the leg by a crocodile in the pond, he was left alone by family, relatives, and companions, he miserably failed to pull out the leg from the mouth of the crocodile, finally, he remembered you. Oh! Prabho, you did not wait too long, rushed on your feet to protect your devotee Gajendra, leaving behind Sri Vaikundam, Goddess Sri Mahalakshmi, and your celestial vehicle Garuda, thus Gajendra got rid of the sufferings and pain of several years instantly. In this way, whenever your devotees are met with hardships, you have rushed to protect them and kept your promise alive. Your child devotee Prahladha desired your presence in the pillar, you have appeared before him in the form of Nrisimha. Devi Draupadi was humiliated in the large assembly of Kaurava, none could protect her from the disgrace, she cried out calling your names for help was protected from further humiliation. Oh! Prabho, you have pleased your sincere devotee Vidura, and accepted his hospitalities, leaving behind the extravagant meal arranged by the Kauravas. In the kali era, your passionate devotee Santh Namadeva achieved your compassionate grace, Oh! Prabho, I am a helpless Bhramin like Sudhama, you have showered an abundance of grace on your childhood companion Sudhama and removed his poverty, kindly shower your grace upon me too.”
