Krishna
Sri Surdas Maharaj speaks “Oh! Govinda, you
are the protector of the distressed souls, you are the closest companion of
them. Oh! Prabho, Gajendra, Devi Dhraupadhi, the people of Vraja and Prahaldha
got relieved from the grief immediately after remembering you. Oh! Prabho, you
have protected the Pandavas from the Lakshagriha that was set to fire as a part
of the plotting of Duryodhana, you have saved the Pandavas from the disgrace and
curse of Sage Dhurvassa who visited the Pandavas during their life in the
woods. You have consumed a tiny green leaf from the ‘Akshayapathra’ offered by
Devi Dhraupadhi and removed the hunger of Sage Dhurvassa and thousands of his
disciples. Oh! Prabho, you have saved King
Ambareesh from the curse of Sage Dhurvasa, later he had to apologize to
the King due to the fear of your fierce disc that chased the Sage to the three
worlds. Oh! Prabho, you have protected the vow of the daughter of King Bhishmak.
Devi Rukmini was firm in her decision to marry none other than Lord Sri Krishna.
Oh! Sripathi Oh! Sri Krishnachandra, you have rushed to Kundinapur to protect
the vow Devi Rukmini, while everyone was witnessing you have effortlessly taken
Devi Rukmini on your hands and safely deposited on your chariot and drove away
from the crowd, whoever followed you and invited for the fight got their egos
crushed. Oh! Prabho, you have released all those crores of kings capable to
form a huge army who were imprisoned by Jarasandha. Oh! Prabho, you have always kept
your promise alive to your devotees, the war of Kurukshetra was exemplary proof
of your promise to your devotees. Oh! Prabho, your childhood friend Sudhama who
was penniless visited you in Dwaraka was received with great honor, you have taken
away the bundle of ragged clothe containing puffed rice from him, although he was
not willing to give you. Oh! Krishnachandra, you always chase after your ardent
devotees, and grieve over their separation, in the same manner, you don’t let
the wicked demons get on with their atrocities. Oh! Sri Hari, your lotus feet
are capable to remove the Thapathraya/three kinds of grief and sufferings of
worldly existence, hence whoever surrenders at your feet would get relieved
from the sufferings of Samsara. Oh! Dheenadhayala, you have incarnated on the
Earth whenever the righteousness got tarnished and the Mother Earth was burned
with the wicked and deceitful people. Oh! Prabho, you have assumed various forms
for the welfare of noble souls, Veda highly eulogizes your endless glories. Oh!
Prabho, even after listening to the endless glories of Lord Sri Hari, the
unfortunate Jeevas are the ones who discard the devotion and worship at your
lotus feet and seek the grace of demigods of their choice.”
