Chapter – 71 - Sur -Vinaya – Pathrika – The four significant phases in the human life  & The three attributes  of Thrigunamayi Maya

Sri Surdas Maharaj speaks “Oh! Prabho, all the living things in the Universe keep wandering in the different yonis/wombs of animals, birds, reptiles, humans, etc. for several thousands of Yuga/Kritha, Thretha, Dwapara, and Kali Yuga. The Jeevas keep hurling themselves into the Samsara/ ocean of worldly existence, and repeated births for several Yugas. The Jeeva drenched in Thrigunamayi Maya represents three attributes of Rajasik, Thamasik, and Sathvik, these attributes pass through the three phases of Childhood, Adulthood, Youth, and elderly year of the Jeeva, in this way, the Jeeva keep multiplies its Karma/good and evil deeds, and get thrown into the Samsarachakara. The impurities of the mind such as lust, desire, ego, jealousy, anger, and pride compel the Jeeva to get attached to the worldly matters of possession, richness, wealth, money, fame, children, wife, companion and relatives, etc., finally shove themselves to the endless sufferings of worldly existence. The ignorant and unfortunate keep dancing to the tune of the impurities of mind such as arrogance, ignorance, desire, lust, ego, desire, anger, jealousy, unfortunately never get over it. The dull-minded never make an effort to get rid of the impurities of the mind by the practice of devotion, meditation, contemplation, and worship of Lord Sri Hari, austerities, Shamadhamadhis, Swadhyaya, etc. The unfortunate Jeeva commits sin by word, deed, and mind, wanders recklessly in eight Prahar/time, Sapthadhvipa, and ten directions, chasing after the worldly matters of possession, fame, richness, and money, wealth, etc…like the child engaged in a board game. The youthful days were spent in the sixteen types of emotions, with the young lady of sixteen years, yearning to watch her beautiful gestures, dreaming about spending days with her in the bed, ultimately investing the Karma, Gnanendhriyas, Chiththa, Ahamkara, Prana, the couple prepares for Garbhadhan Samskar/rite performed after the wedding, to perform ancestor’s rite, further he is compelled to wander all over for amassing wealth, happiness, fame, etc. leaving the righteous deeds/Dharma and performance of religious and spiritual deed. Who is not worn out of time? All the living and non-living things are bound by ‘Time’.  The latter years of age are extremely difficult for the unfortunate Jeeva who has not practiced meditation, devotion, and worship of Lord Sri Hari. The limbs get weaker in the old age, the Karma and Gnanendhriyas, Chiththa, Ahamkara, that were drenched in the worldly matters, lust, greed, desire, ego, jealousy, and pride, attached to the infinite Shabdha, Sparsha, Rasa, Roopa, and Gandha, starts weakening, it would bring utter disappointments, the fear of death and illnesses becomes a constant companion. The fortunate people invest their mind, intellect, Karma and Gnanendhriyas, Prana, Ahamkara, in the austerities, celibacy, self-control, meditation, Pranayama, contemplation, Swadhayaya, Ahimsa, Astheya, Arjjavam, Shama, Dhama, Sathyam, Shaucham, etc. to achieve eight types of supernatural powers, ultimately get rid of interest in worldly matters and infinite Shabdha, Sparsha, Rasa, Roopa, Gandha. Oh! Mortals, the four significant phases of human lives such as Balyavastha/ childhood, Kishoravastha/Adulthood, Yauvanavastha/youthful, and the latter years of age are extremely important, these are unavoidable from several Yugas. These important phases of human lives should be utilized for the achievement of  ‘Purusharththa’/Dharma, Arththa, Kama, and Moksha. Oh! Mortals, it is impossible to achieve Purusharththa without the interest in ‘Harinama’, the unfortunate Jeeva who is drenched in worldly matters gets driven away from the Sacchidhanandha Swaroopa Paramathma Parambhramam, takes several births in various Yonis/womb, in this way they continue to keep rolling in the Samsarachakra.”
