Sri Shiva Sahasranama Sthothram || Poorva Bhaga: || - Lyrics & Its meaning – 21 – 30

|| Jai Sriman Narayana ||

|| Om Namashivaya ||

Lord Vasudeva continued “How it is possible to understand the splendor of Supreme Lord, by chanting his names? He can envision even the smallest things, he is primordial, he has no beginning or end and he is safe haven to Rishis and Sages.  I would explain a few of the glories of Supreme Lord Shiva who is the personification of austerities and destroyer of demons.”

Rishi Vaishampayana said “after uttering the above words, Lord Krishna took his seat and observed ablution; he meditated upon Lord Maheshwara who is the Lord of righteous people and began to describe his glories.”

Lord Vasudeva spoke “ Oh! My beloved cousin Yudhishtira, Sage Upamanyu folded his palm together and meditated upon supreme Lord Shiva and began to explain various sacred names of him.”

Sage Upamayu said “ I shall meditate upon the supreme Lord Shiva, reciting his glorious names which was earlier recited by  Brahma and Rishis, that was arisen from the sacred scriptures of Veda and Vedanga, which is prominent in the Universe.  Those holy names are eulogized by Mahath/virtuous who are highly devoted and have immense spiritual powers, they are capable to accomplish any huge tasks, was told by Sage Dhandi who is highly proficient in Veda.  I shall meditate upon supreme Lord Shiva, who is venerated by all sages and pious, he is capable to provide liberation from the cycles of birth and death with the recital of those sacred names.  Oh! Yadhukula Shreshta/ chief in the clan of Yadhu, kindly pay attention to my words, which are most sacred and originated from the world of  Bhrama/Sathyaloka, that are the pinnacle of Vedas, it is omnipresent and eternal truth.  I shall meditate upon the supreme Lord Shiva who is the personification of Bhramam, and venerated by Lord Bhrama.   Oh! Krishna, who is the sincere devotee of Lord Parameshwara, therefore venerates supreme Lord Parameshwara who is the source of Universe, he is the Lord of Lords, I shall continue to narrate the splendor of him. It is impossible to narrate the entire glories of supreme Lord Shiva in hundred years, even though one has the capabilities and prominence.”
