|| Jai Sriman Narayana ||

|| Shankara ||

I shall bow my head and prostrate before supreme Lord Shiva who is personified as Sri Ardhanareeshwara, whose half of the body that shines like the Champeya/golden yellow flower, and the other half shines in pallor like camphor, one (left) side of the head is decked in beautiful plait of hair and the other half is matted hair locks.  I shall bow my head and prostrate before Lord Shiva who is personified as Sri Ardhanareeshwara whose half of the body is decorated with Kasthuri/musk and Kumkum/vermilion which extends attractive look, on the other half is smeared in sacred ashes from funeral pyre which gives out distinctive look.  I shall bow my head and prostrate before Lord Shiva who is personified as Sri Ardhanareeshwara whose half of the body is decorated with golden Kangan/bangles on beautiful hands and noopura/anklets on feet that makes jingle noise while she moves, and the other half of lotus feet decked in various venmous serpents.  I shall bow my head and prostrate before Lord Shiva who is personified as Sri Ardhanareeshwara who has wide, blue lotus flower like eyes on left that extends pleasing look, on the other side the eyes that blossomed in mud and have a distant look.  I shall bow my head and prostrate before Lord Shiva who is personified as Sri Ardhanareeshwara whose one/left side is decked in garlands made of Mandhara flowers which extrends majestic look, on the other side is decorated with  directions as clothing which reveals the modest status of Lord Eswara.  I shall bow my head and prostrate before Lord Shiva who is personified as Sri Ardhanareeshwara whose one side has beautiful hair locks that resembles dark cloud which extends no divinity and the other side is matted hair locks sparkling in golden tinge reveals the all-pervading nature of Lord.  I shall bow my head and prostrate before Lord Shiva who is personified as Sri Ardhanareeshwara, whose one side of the body that performs the dance in extreme bliss as Jagathjanani/mother of the Universe while creation, the other side of the body performs the vibrant form of cosmic dance as Jagadhekapitha/father of the Universe and its living beings, at the time of deluge/Samhara Thandavam.  I shall bow my head and prostrate before Lord Shiva who is personified as Sri Ardhanareeshwara, whose one part of the body reveals the auspicious aura with dazzling precious gem studded ear ring, the other part creates dreadful impression with venomous serpent as ornaments, in this way they simultaneously extends auspiciousness as Ardhanareeshwara.
