Sri Hanumath Sthothram – Lyrics and meanings

|| Jai Sriman Narayana ||

I shall meditate upon Lord Hanuman/Vathathmaja, son of Lord Vayu who has the brilliance of crores of Adithyas in early morning hours, he is attractive and highly enthusiastic, his lotus feet is worshiped by Sugriva and numerous monkey warriors, he terrifies the clan of demons with his boisterous voice, he is immersed in the meditation of supreme Lord Rama.  I shall meditate upon Lord Hanuman who is seated cross legged, his left hand   placed on the left knee, and right hand on Gnanamudhra posture which is placed close to heart, he is surrounded by Rishis and Sages, he is immersed in deep meditation by fixing eyes on the tip of the nose, he has the brilliance of crores of Adithya of early morning hours, he dwells in the magnificent Kadhalivanam, I shall earnestly pray to Lord Hanuman to purify our hearts.   I shall prostrate before the son of Lord Vayu, who has reddish brown colored eyes and hair, his body has crimson color, he has the brilliance of crores of Adithya in the early morning hours hence it is impossible to witness him, his nails and teeth has the luster of full moon that removes the darkness of the surroundings.   I shall meditate upon Lord Hanuman who has crimson colored eyes due to extreme anger that resembles to colossal fire which is capable to burn the venomous serpents and thieves, he has supreme brilliance and magnificent stature of majestic Mount Meru, his face, ears and legs are crimson colored, he has fierce sharp teeth, he is the son of Lord Vayu and Anjana Devi.  I shall prostrate before Lord Hanuman/Vanaraja, who has the radiance of precious molten yellow metal, he is the destroyer of fears, his two palms are joined and placed near chest, he is decked in magnificent ear studs that well suited to the lotus like face of him, and he is beyond description.   I shall meditate upon supreme Lord Vanaranayakam/monkey warrior, who has the complexion of precious molten yellow metal, both the palms are folded and placed on the chest; he is decked in magnificent crown and ear stud.   I shall meditate upon supreme Lord Anjaneya who has crimson colored face and stature of Mount Meru, he dwells under the tree of Parijatha, and he is the son of Lord Vayu.
