Victory to Lord Shankara who has the luster of moon, he is the
personification of serenity and supreme brilliance, he fulfills all the desires
of his passionate devotees and gracefully accepted the hospitality of
Shuchidhaththa, he is the destroyer of grief and sorrows of passionate
devotees. Victory to Lord Shankara who
dwells in sky like hearts of virtuous people, he destroys the forest like heap
of sins of his devotees with the colossal wood fire, he have various
incarnations and myths, he is charismatic, he
effortlessly destroyed the cupid flower arrows Lord Kamadeva. Victory to Lord Shankara who eradicates
untimely death of his ardent devotees and fulfills their desires, he is decked
in venomous serpents as ornaments, gracefully offered left half of his body to
Goddess Sri Parvathi, he is omnipresent.
Victory to Lord Shankara, who is the representation of three worlds, he
is compassionate to all the living beings, he accepts oblations from the fire
sacrifices, he is the commander of Bhoothaganas, he is the safe haven for the
people who are besieged with extreme distress.
Victory to Lord Shankara, I shall prostrate before the magnificent form
of supreme Lord Shiva with his consort
Goddess Sri Parvathi/Girirajakumari, he
is omnipresent, he is the symbol of ‘Om” /Pranavadhvani, he is decked in
crescent moon. Oh! Shiva, Oh! Deva, Oh!
Mahesha, Oh! Gireesha , Oh! Vibho, Oh!
Vibhavapradha/provider of auspiciousness, who is decked in crescent moon, he
destroys the wicked people who create impediments to Bhakthi and worship of Lord;
I shall earnestly pray to shower your auspicious grace on three worlds. I shall prostrate before the lotus feet of
supreme Lord Shiva, I am not aware of anything other than to prostrate before your
lotus feet, I am not scared of Lord Yama, kindly destroy my sins and I shall
always prostrate before supreme Lord Shiva, veneration of supreme Lord
Shiva/Shivapooja is considered as superior method of worship and highly
propitious in this world. Therefore, I
shall venerate supreme Lord Shiva who is beyond Thrigunas, decked in king of
serpents as ornaments and he is Pralayakalagni/colossal fire at the time of
deluge.
Thus concludes the Mahadevasthuthi by son of Sage Angirass, Lord
Mahadeva was pleased at his devotion and offered various boons to him.
