I shall meditate upon the supreme Lord Shiva whose Sthanormukham/Paschima/the face that facing on the western direction, he is supreme Bhramam, unblemished and all-pervading, has the luster resemblance to glaciers, crescent moon, fresh alluring jasmine flowers and
whiteness of foam packed on the milk, he is smeared in sacred ashes all over his
body, he has three eyes resembles Surya, Chandra, and Agni, and his third eye is blazing fire like was burnt Kamadeva into ashes, he is venerated by Lord Bhrama, Lord Vishnu and
Maruthganas, and it always enunciate the sacred hymns of Rigveda.
I shall meditate upon the supreme Lord Shiva Uththarabhaga/face that facing on the northern direction, that has a fair complexion, decorated in vermilion, and has the supreme luster spreading on the areas of neck, his
beautiful eyes with bluish eyelids flickering, he has crimson colored
lips that has the resemblance to Bimba fruits and with a beautiful smile on
it, and it continuously enunciate the
sacred hymns of Yajur Veda.
I shall meditate upon the supreme Lord Shiva Poorvamukham/face that facing west, which is venerated by Siddhas, Suras, Asuras, and Lord Indra. He
has the supreme brilliance of colossal fire and lightning that initiate at the
end of each Kalpa that is superior to the radiance of precious yellow metal,
he is decked in lustrous crescent moon on his matted hair locks, and sparkling forehead, he has attractive matted hair locks that have reddish-brown
color, he is decked in serpents on matted hair locks and it always
enunciate the majestic Samaveda.
I shall meditate upon the supreme Lord Shiva, and his southern-facing face has the luster of dark clouds, honey bees and
Anjana/charcoal, his eyes have a reddish-brown color, he is decked in venomous
serpents with their gem on the forehead and long terrifying fangs out, he is decked in
crescent moon, and it always enunciate the sacred hymns of Atharva Veda.
I shall meditate upon the fifth face of supreme Lord Shiva, which
is facing the sky resembles all-pervasive Bhramam. It
is described as visible as well as invisible, it is beyond perception and description for the principles of 36 philosophies, it is indestructible and it is one of the superior most philosophy which is meditated upon by
the Yogis, it is the cause and origin of the sacred Pranava Manthra ‘Om” and
all sacred hymns, it is beyond perception and it has supreme radiance.
Whoever recites or listens to the glorious sacred five faces of Lord
Shiva during the hours of dusk would reach the abode of Lord in a magnificent celestial
vehicle and reside in the marvelous pleasure garden with the associations of the celestials in the Abode of Lord Shiva.
