Apadhudhdharaka Sri Durga Sthothram – Lyrics and meanings

|| Jai Sriman Narayana ||

I shall prostrate before Goddess Sri Durga who is the safest haven of her devotees who are surrendered at her lotus feet and she is compassionate.  I shall prostrate before Goddess Sri Durga who is omnipresent and she is the symbol of the Universe/Vishwaroope,  I shall prostrate before Goddess Sri Dura whose lotus feet is worshiped by the whole Universe, I shall prostrate before Goddess Sri Durga and I shall earnestly pray to protect us.  I shall prostrate before Goddess Sri Durga who represents the Universe, I shall prostrate before Goddess sri Durga who is the symbol of Mahayogini who follow strict austerities and penances, she is the personification of wisdom, I shall prostrate before Goddess Sri Durga who is the symbol of eternal bliss, I shall earnestly pray to protect us.  I shall prostrate before Goddess Sri Durga, Oh! Devi I am helpless, distressed, afflicted with fear and perils, I am completely chained with worldly matters, I have no haven other than you, therefore kindly protect us.  Oh! Devi, you are the safe haven in the wild forest like Samsara, you are my asylum in the middle of the enemies in the battle field, you are my protective shield in the midst of colossal fire, ocean, external territories and in the royal fields, therefore I shall prostrate before you, kindly protect us.  Oh! Devi, you are beyond description, you are the safest haven for the people who are drowned in the ocean of Samsara brimming with perils, I shall prostrate before you I am helpless without any shelter, kindly protect us.  I shall prostrate before Goddess Chandika who is the slayer of demon Chanda, she is the annihilator of wicked people and enemies, Oh! Devi, I shall prostrate before you, I am helpless without any shelter, kindly protect us.    I shall prostrate before Goddess Sri Durga who dwells as Ida, Pingala and Sushmna in the divine chakra, she is the eternal truth and has perfect control over the senses.  I shall prostrate before Goddess Durga who is personified as Shivaa/consort of Lord Shiva and consort of Bheemanadha as well.  She is embodied as Goddess Saraswathi and Arundhathi, she has various incarnations such as Shachi, Kalarathri, Sathi etc... I shall prostrate before Goddess Sri Durga and earnestly pray to protect us.  She is worshiped by Suras/deities, Siddhas, Vidhyadharas, Sages and Rishis, virtuous people,  and living beings who are afflicted by various tortures of the Kings, illnesses etc…  I shall prostrate before Goddess Sri Durga and earnestly pray to protect us.
