Guru Sthothram –
I shall prostrate before the Preceptor
who represents Lord Bhrama, Lord Vishnu and Lord Maheshwara as well. He is supreme Bhramam. I shall prostrate before Lord
Dhashinamoorthi who is incarnated as supreme Preceptor to impart knowledge to
the whole of Universe, he is the cure for the sufferings in the Samsara, and he
is the symbol of all the art forms. I
shall prostrate before Lord Dakshinamoorthi who represents the Pranava Manthra
‘Om’ and supreme intelligence and wisdom, he is unblemished and supreme
radiance, he is seated in Yogamudra posture to reveal the philosophies of
Paramathma and Jeevathma, he is young youth seated in silence to reveal the
Parambhrama philosophies and he is surrounded by Sages like Vashishta and
deities who are immersed in the meditation of Bhramam, he is supreme Preceptor
whose hands are in Chinmudra posture, he is the symbol of supreme bliss. Oh! Deva, you are my mother, you are my
father as well. You are my
Bandhu/relative and Sakha/closest associate, you are my intellect and wealth as
well, and you are my everything.
Shiva Sthothrani –
I shall meditate upon Lord Vishwesha,
Lord Madhava, Lord Ganesha/Dhundi, Lord Subramanya/Dhandapani, Lord Bhairava in
sacred land of Kashi, sacred river Ganga, Goddess Bhavani and Manikarnika Ghat. I shall prostrate before Lord Sadhashiva who
is the symbol of auspiciousness and serenity.
I shall repeatedly prostrate before Lord Shankara along with Goddess Sri
Parvathi who has everlasting youth, he has daughter of mountain as his consort
and he has flag that carries the symbol celestial bull, I shall prostrate
before the most auspicious form of Ardhanareeshwara. I shall meditate upon Lord Shambhu who is the
consort of Goddess Uma, he is the Preceptor of the deities, he is the cause of
the Universe, he is decked in venomous serpent all over his body, he is decked
in crescent moon on his matted hair locks, he is Pashupathi /protector of all
the living beings as well. I shall
meditate upon Lord Shiva who has Lord Surya, Lord Chandra and Lord Agni as his
eyes, he is fond of Lord Mukunda, he is the safe haven to the devotees who are
surrendered at his lotus feet, he is the provider of all the auspiciousness and
abundance of boons. I shall eulogize the
glories of Lord Shambu who is the Lord of the Universe, he is Eshwara with
three eyes, he is the consort of Goddess Gauri, he is the provider of boons to
his passionate devotees, and he is decked in crescent moon on his beautiful
matted hair locks.
Dvadhasa Jyothir Linga Sthothram –
The prominent Jyothirlinga shrines are
Sri Somanatham situated in Saurashtram, Sri Mallikarjunam in Srishailam, Sri
Mahakalam in Ujjain, Sri Omkareshwara in Amaleshwar, Sri Vaidhyanatha in
Paralyam, Sri Bheemshankar in Dakinyam, Sri Rameshwara on the shores of Sethu,
Sri Nageshwara in Dharuka woods, Sri Vishweshwara in Varanasi, Sri
Thryambakeshwar on the banks of river Gauthami, Sri Kedareshwar on the hills of
Himalaya and Sri Ghushmesham.
Whoever reads or listens to these sacred
verses of Jyothirlinga shrines in the early hours of dawn and dusk would be
relieved from all the sins instantly.
Mruthyunjjaya Manthram –
I shall prostrate before Lord Mahadeva
who has won over Lord Yama, he is Rudra, Neelakanda and Shambu as well. He is immortal, he is omnipresent. I shall meditate upon Lord Shiva who has Lord
Surya, Lord Chandra and Lord Agni as three eyes, he is smeared in rich fragrant
musk, and he is the protector of all the living beings, Oh! Lord, kindly freed
us from worldly bondage and repeated birth and deaths.
