Skandha continues “whoever reads or
listens to Ganga Namashasrakam would inhabit in community, people who resides
in the community recites or listens to the sacred names of Ganga would get all
his/her desires fulfilled and there will
not be communal riot, he/she will be not affected by the Thithi or Vara or Yoga
Dhosha, he/she would be blessed with long life, good health and birth in superior
clan, he/she would be freed from all kinds of calamity and troubles, whoever
reads or listens to the sacred names of Ganga would be benefited with all kinds
of Siddhi, Oh! Mune, it would destroy all the severe sins accumulated in
various births, sins of Bhramahasthya, illicit
relationship, Bhrunahathya/killing of fetus, or mother or father, etc.. it
destroys the sins of irresolute promises, killing friends, causing impediments
to fire rituals, or killing of cow, stealing of wealth of preceptor etc… Whoever reads or listens to the thousands of
sacred names of Ganga with utmost faith devotion would be relieved from all
kind of miseries. It would destroy all
kinds of severe illnesses, grief, distress and miseries, whoever reads or
listens to the thousands of sacred names of Ganga with intense devotion for
several years would attain whatever they yearn and relieved from all the sins,
people who are uncertain minded, act against Dharma, deceitful, mischievous
would be led to the path of righteousness.”
