Skandha continues “Oh! Mune, whoever
reads or listens to the sacred hymns of Goddess Ganga would be relieved from
wickedness and greed, and their sins committed by thoughts, words and deeds would
vanish instantly, moreover the worshiper would remain beloved to Pithrus,
he/she would remain favorite to all the
deities and Rishis, ultimately they would travel on the celestial vehicle
to the abode of celestials, they will
live a noble life in the heavenly abode with all kinds of riches like various
precious ornaments, luxuries and sumptuous meal, they explore merrily through
the pleasure gardens of deities and live extremely delightful. Vipra/Bhramin who reads or listens to these
sacred verses in the early hours of morning with strict austerities on the day
of Shraddha would be relieved from Pithru Runa, Pithrus will be pleased and the worshiper remain beloved to Pithrus,
it would please their Pithrus soaked in
downpour, Pithrus will be highly pleased to receive Pindakarma on the sacred
waters of Ganga and remain satisfied for an year, whoever worships the sacred
text of Ganga in their home would be relieved from sins and fears and the home
would remain purified at all times, Oh! Agasthye, kindly listen to me carefully,
worshiper should follow their responsibilities without any disbelief, if there
is any doubt there will be no fruit,
water consecrated with the sacred hymns of Ganga would be treated as
Gangajal, whoever reads or listens to these sacred hymns praising Ganga would
be relieved from repeated births and the worshiper will not have to undergo the
sufferings in the womb, it is highly propitious to read these sacred hymns on
daily basis, it would help the worshiper to dissolve in her sacred water instead
of other places. The above marvelous
sacred hymns were retold as Mukthi Beejakshara/source of Liberation by Pinakina
who is ardent devotee of Lord Vishnu.
These are sacred hymns praising the glories of Jahnavi, it is highly
propitious and provides the merit of holy dip in the sacred waters of Ganga.”
