Sri Gopala Sahasranama Sthothram – Sri Narada Pancharathram - Lyrics and meanings 1 - 9

|| Jai Sriman Narayana ||

Goddess Sri Parvathi speaks “ Oh! Bhagavan, Oh! Sarvesha, Oh! Devadeva, Oh! Jagathguru, kindly narrate to me the sacred armor of Lord Vishnu who is personified as  Gopalakrishna, I am enthusiastically waiting to listen from you, I would like to hear the Paramathman who is incarnated as  Gopala, Oh! Bhakthavalsala, kindly narrate those thousands of sacred names of  Gopala.   Oh! Natha, I shall surrender to you, Oh! Devesha, Oh! Pranavallabha, kindly enlighten me with the knowledge of glorious myth of Gopala which is  Achyutha Peethyusham equivalent to the elixir of nectar.”

Sri Mahadeva replied “ Oh! Devi, Oh! Priye, Long ago at the beginning of Kalpa, thousands of sacred names of Sri Balakrishna was introduced by Maharishi Vedavyasa in the wood that was learned by Shuka, Sages and Rishis, and Devarishis.   Later it was retold by Maharishi Narada in the woods of Dhandaka to the fervent devotees who were eager to hear the glories of Paramathman who is personified as Gopala.  These thousands of sacred names are highly propitious, which narrates the glories of  Baleshwara/divine personified in the form of child  who dwells in the sacred land of Vridavan, it eradicates all the sins and severest sins like Bhramahathya.  In the era of Kali, sacred river Ganga provides liberation from the repeated births and sacred scripture Bhagavath Gita provides salvation at the lotus feet, though in the absence of any Yajja/sacred fire sacrifices, and there is no other way to attain liberation other than remembrance of sacred names of Lord Hari, therefore kindly listen to me.”

Sri Balakrishna Sahasranama  Sthothra is a highly meritorious hymns  composed by Maharishi Narada, presiding deity is  Sri Balakrishna  and it is recited for attaining Purusharththa/Dharma, Artha, Kama and Moksha.
