Sri Shaunaka speaks “ Oh! Sutha who is
noble and has profound knowledge in various philosophies, learned numerous
fields of knowledge from supreme Lord, although you have been exploring the
sacred lands and ponds with an intense desire to listen the glories of supreme
Lrod. Listening to the glorious myths
and hymns of supreme Lord who is worshiped by the Universe would provide liberation
even to the ignorant, and it is highly propitious to recite or remember or listening
to those sacred verses praising the glories of Lord after dip in the sacred
pond and visiting the sacred shrine.”
Sri Sutha speaks “Oh! Viprendhra, remembrance of Hari, numerous holy ponds and sacred shrines and meditation of Madhusoodhana
would bring abundance of rewards instantly.
I shall narrate a glorious legend for the people I have witnessed in
Kali era, Oh Bhathavalsala, people are afflicted with the evil effects of Kali
era, they are strongly encircled by the material world, and people are bloated
with little knowledge and are lazy to perform their Karma. There was a Bhramin/twice born/Dhvija lived
on the sacred river bank of Chandrabhaga, he was too devoted to his parents,
Pundarika Kshethram is most celebrated shrine near the river Bheemarathi, it
was the reason of Pundarika who is most beneficent brought Madhava on this
sacred land, this sacred pond Chandhrabhaga and the shrine is devoted to
Pundarika who is capable to provide liberation instantly even to gamblers,
rogues and people who are afflicted with the evil effects of Kali. The presiding deity is Vittala who is the
source of Universe and its living beings, he is imperishable, he is the source
of protection of the Universe and cause for the deluge at the end of Yuga, he
is too compassionate to his worshiper and provides various boons, he is absolute
truth and eternal bliss, he is deserved to be venerated, remembrance of his
sacred names would eradicates lust and anger.
This is one of the most celebrated sacred shrine was obtained by the ascetic
Pundarika to visit.”
