before supreme Lord Mahadeva who makes wisdom more gratifying, I shall prostrate before supreme Lord
Mahadeva who makes life most satisfying after witnessing your lotus feet. Oh! Maheshvara I am grateful to you! I am grateful to you! I am grateful to you! Oh! Bhakthavalsala/beloved of devotees, I shall
remain grateful to you always after visualizing your lotus feet. Oh! Shivashambhu! Oh! Shivashambhu! Oh! Shivashambu! Shiva Shiva! You are
gracious and supreme bliss, I shall continuously recite your sacred names incoherently, Oh! Shive, kindly provide us sincere devotion
and I shall remain faithful and devoted, and I shall remain firm in your
devotion. Since birth I have been devoted to Mahadeva and I am not aware of any
other deities, whatever born are subject to destroy, everything is perishable
in nature, and Lord Shambhu is the source for all those took place on Earth. We are thankful! We are thankful! We are thankful
to the three worlds! I shall prostrate
before supreme Lord Oh! Mahadeva, Oh! Adhideva
who is primeval, you are the presiding deity of our clan. Oh! Hara who is the destroyer of sins of
worshiper, Oh! Shambho who is
benevolent, Oh! Mahadeva who is supreme, Oh! Vishveshvara who is the Lord of
Universe, Oh! Vallabha who is the
dearest darling of Goddess Parvathi, Oh! Shiva who is most gracious and
favourable, Oh! Shankara who symbolizes auspiciousness, Oh! Sarvathma who
dwells as soul in living beings, Oh! Neelakanda who has bluish throat I shall
eulogise your glories. Whoever reads or
listens to the glorious verses of Agasthyashtakam before supreme Lord Shiva
would attain the abode of Lord Shiva and remain in the association of Lord.”
