Sri Angaraka Sthothram – Lyrics and meanings

Sri Angaraka Sthothra was composed by Rishi Viroopangirass, it has Agni as presiding deity, Goddess Gayathri as Chandhas, it is recited to please son of Goddess Earth/Bhaumapriya/most beloved to Bhauma.  I shall meditate upon Lord Angaraka who is wielded in Shakthi, he has crimson colored attractive limbs, he is Dharasutha who is the son of Goddess Dhara/Earth, he is youthful, he symbolizes auspiciousness, he is Bhauma who has great stature, he is the provider of abundance of wealth to worshiper, he destroys Rinas of the human known as Pithru Rina/sins committed to ancestors, Rishi Rina/sins committed to Rishis and Sages, and Deva Rina/sins committed to deities, he fixes eyes on all stars, he causes illnesses and wipe out the same, he has the effulgence of lightening, he inflicts wounds and scars, he is Kuja who provides abundance of wealth and fulfils all the desires of the worshiper, he is fond of listening to Samagana, he is attired in blood red colored garments, his eyes are crimson colored, he is planet Mars/Kuja who has crimson colored complexion, he is a great preceptor who enlightens the worshiper with his duties and responsibilities, he is decked in flower garlands of crimson colored flowers, he is adorned in marvelous earrigs of precious yellow metal, he is the commander of Graha/planets, the above are the sacred names of Bhauma, is highly propitious to recite always.  It is capable to eradicates the Rinas of humans, ill fate, miseries and sorrows caused by poverty, it provides abundance of wealth and all kinds of auspciousness, and attractive bride as perfect companion, it augments the happiness of the clan with virtuous progeny, it is highly auspicious to venerate Lord Angaraka/Bhauma with various fresh alluring flowers, it eradicates all kinds of perils, sorrows and miseries caused by the movements of planets.
