Maharishi Narada speaks “I shall meditate upon
Lord Vishnu who is personified as Vasudeva and
Hrishikesha who is Lord of senses,
he is personified as dwarf/Vamana, he reclines on the serpent Anantha in the
milky ocean/Jalashain, he is Janardhana who is the protector of Universe and
its living beings, he is Hari who is personified as dark cloud complexioned,
Goddess Sri Mahalakshmi dwells on his chest, he carries majestic flag that has
the symbol of King of birds/Garuda, he is embodied as wild boar/Varaha, his
eyes has the resemblance to lotus flower petals/Pundareekaksha, he is embodied
as half lion – half man/Nrusimham, he crushed the pride of Narakasura/Narakanthaka,
he is not perceivable through senses/Avyaktham, he is eternal/Anantham, he is
Vishnu who is primordial deity, he is imperishable, he is Narayana who is
wielded in mace, he is Govinda who is highly honorable, he elevated the Mount
Govardhana, he is divine personified, he is embodied as Earth and he is the
consort of Earth as well, he is the Lord of Universe, he is absolute Bhramam,
he is Yajjyapurusha who symbolizes fire sacrifices, he performs the fire
sacrifices, he accepts the oblation from the fire sacrifices, he is wielded in
Chakra/wheel, Gadha/mace, and Shankha/conch, he is personified as flawless
among the men on Earth, he dwells in the superior abode of Sri Vaikundham, he destroys
wicked people, he symbolizes Earth, he is attired in majestic yellow silk
garment, he is personified as Thrivikrama/dwarf who crushed the pride of
Emperor Bali, he is aware of past, present and future, he represents Lord
Bhrama, Lord Vishnu and Lord Shiva, he represents Nandikeshwara, he is
personified as charming Lord Rama, Hayagreevah/horse faced, he has various
forms including colossal and fierce, he
is Sripathi who is Lord of Goddess Sri Mahalakshmi, he is Sreedhara who carries
Goddess Sri Mahalakshmi on his chest, he represents wealth and prosperity/Shreesha, he
symbolizes auspiciousness, he is wielded in divine weapons, he is Dhamodhara
who was tied around with the rope to the
mortal pastel, he is Keshava who is the slayer of Keshi, he is the provider of
abundance of boons to worshiper, he is Vishnu who is eternal bliss, he is
personified as son of Vasudeva, he has golden virility, he has supreme
effulgence, he represents sacred scriptures, he is Purushoththama/flawless, he
dwells in living and non-living things, he is pure, he remains with properties
as well as void of properities, his charming physique has the complexion of precious yellow metal, he has the radiance of
Adithya, he has the complexion of dark clouds, he has powerful four arms, he is
eternal bliss, his eyes has the resemblance to lotus flower petals, he has the
appearance of supreme light, he has various forms and remains formless too, he is all pervading, he is
omniscient, he dwells as soul in living beings, he is Sarvesha who witnesses
all directions/watchful , he is supreme soul symbolizes wisdom and knowledge,
he is constant, he is the provider of supreme wisdom, he is beyond human
intellect, he is Prabhu/mighty Lord, he is Lord of Yoga who undertakes extreme
yogic practices, he is embodied as Yoga and he is personified as Yogi, he is Eshvara, I shall meditate upon supreme
Lord who dwells as soul in living
beings, these are the sacred hundred and
eight names of Lord Vishnu which is capable to eradicate all the sins of
worshiper/Vaishnava who is fervent devotee of Lord Vishnu, it was previously
narrated by Maharishi Vedavyasa, it is capable to eradicates all the sins of
the worshiper who recites or listens to it during the early hours of dawn,
worshiper will be freed from all the sins and remain pure, ultimately attain
communion with the Lord, worshiper will attain the pieties of observance of
thousands of fortnight, performance of
hundreds of marriage of young maiden to suitable bride grooms, whoever
recites or listens to lakhs and thousands of times would attain liberation from
repeated births. Worshiper would attain
the meritorious reward of performance of ten thousands of Ashwamedha Yagam.”
