Sri Pushkara speaks “ Goddess
Sri Mahalakshmi who symbolizes wealth, kingdom and glories returned to the abode of Lord Indhra once
again. Goddess Sri Mahalakshmi who is
the source of victory and was eulogized by various sacred hymns by Lord Indhra.”
Lord Indhra spoke “ I shall
prostrate before supreme Goddess Sri Mahalakhmi who is worshiped in the whole
Universe, she is the mother of the Universe and its living beings, she is
originated from the milky ocean, she is the source of wealth and prosperity,
her beautiful eyes has the resemblance to the petals of rose flower, she
resides on the chest of her beloved consort Lord Vishnu, she symbolizes Siddhi,
Svadha, Svaha, Sudha/munificent, Sandhya/confluence of day and night, Rathri/night, Prabhamoorthi/illuminating, Medha/wisdom,
Shraddha/faith and Saraswathi, she is
purifier of Universe and its living beings, she symbolizes Yajjavidhya,
Mahavidhya, Guhyavidhya, Athmavidhya, she is Shobhana/splendid, she is the
provider of highest of the pieties to her worshiper, she is the source of three
types of well-being, she is unbiased on imposing punishment, she has pleasing
disposition, she is worshiped by the righteous, she is all pervading, she
symbolizes fire sacrifice, she is worshiped by Lord of Lords, she is
primordial, she is meditated by Yogis and eulogizes nectar like her glories,
she has abandoned all comforts for the welfare of the three worlds, she
augments happiness and wealth of her worshiper, she provides good companion as
wedded wife, virtuous offspring, good associates, wealth and abundance of
grains, Oh! Mahabhage, kindly shower your eternal grace on us, Oh! Devi, kindly
bless us with good health, abundance of wealth, and protect us from enemies,
your eight kinds of auspicious grace is difficult to attain, Oh! Amba, you are
beloved of living beings, you are beloved of Devadeva, Hari and Lord Bhrama,
you are beloved consort of Lord Vishnu,
you are all pervading and dwells in living and non-living things, she has abandoned
honor, cells, organs, properties and possessions, house and belonging, body
and family in order to purify the souls, she has abandoned virtuous offspring,
companion, wealth and ornaments, she dwells on the chest of Lord Vishnu, she
represents Sathvik nature, she is storehouse of virtues, she is pure, she
is the source of prosperity of the clan,
hence she is deserved to be venerated, she gets highly pleased and showers her auspicious grace on the
virtuous and scholarly engaged in the performance of fire sacrifices, she
showers her grace on valorous, and bestow various attributes, Oh!
Vishnuvallabhe/dearest darling of Lord Vishnu, Oh! Jagadhathri who is the source of Universe and living beings , kindly shower your auspicious grace on us,
Oh! Vedhase who is the essence of sacred Veda, I am not competent to describe
your glories, Oh! Padmakshi who has the eyes resemblance to the petals of rose flower, kindly protect us.
