Sri Chidambara Nataraja Ashtoththarashathanama Sthothram – Sri Chidambara Kalpam – Lyrics and meanings

I shall meditate upon supreme Lord of Chidambaram Lord Nataraja along with Goddess Shivakami, he is Sabhesha who he has the brilliance of millions of Adithya, he has Surya, Chandhra and Agni as three eyes, he is adorned in crescent moon which spread cool rays and stream of sacred river Ganga on matted hair locks, his left leg is beautifully elevated on the right side, he is attired in skin of leopard, he holds colossal fire and Dol/drum,  and Damaru, Goddess ShivA who has dark cloud complexion on his left side, he is adorned in garland of white water lily and Rudraksha.  I shall meditate upon Lord Chidambaresha along with Goddess Parvathi who is seated on the left, he is ocean of mercy, he has charming appearance, he has three eyes, he has attractive matted hair locks, he is Sadhashiva who symbolizes supreme bliss, he has personified as Rudra, he is eternal.  I shall prostrate before supreme Lord Chidambareshvara, he is Shambhu who symbolizes auspiciousness, he is Natesha who is Lord of dance forms,  he is fond of performance of cosmic dance, he crushed the pride of Apasmara/demon represents epilepsy, forgetfulness, illnesses related to intelligence, he is supreme preceptor, he is the King of dance of forms, he is Sabhapathi, he is Lord of Pundareekapura, he is the Lord of Hemasabha/goldensabha, he symbolizes auspiciousness, he is Lord of Chidambaram, he symbolizes sacred chants, he is beloved of Hari, he symbolizes Dhvadhasha, he symbolizes all dance forms, he is Lord of dance, he is supreme bliss, he is Parathpara, he represents astrology, he represents joy, he is Vibudheshvara who is Lord of Lords, he illuminates the Universe with his radiance, his attractive limbs represents dance, his lotus feet represents dance, he has three eyes, he is beloved of Vyaghrapadha Muni, he symbolizes Manthraraja, he is the Lord of Thillvavana, he is Hara who is the Lord of Rathnasabha, he has provided abundance of boons to Sage Pathanjali, he symbolizes Manthra, and Omkara, he is Shankara, he is Chandhrashekhara who is adorned in crescent moon on matted hair locks, he is Neelakanda who has bluish throat, he has eye on forehead, he holds colossal fire, he is Maheshvara who is mighty Lord, he performs cosmic dance in supreme bliss, he has the luster of camphor, he is adorned in sacred river Ganga on matted hair locks, he is Lord of Chakresha, he is Kunjjithapadha, his limbs represents Srichakra, he is the safest heaven to worshiper who are surrendered at his lotus feet, his lotus feet are adorned in magnificent anklets decorated with bells, he is dearest darling of Goddess of Thripura, he is the source of virtuous offspring, he is Lord of Chakranatha, he resides as Bindu in the triangle, he represents five essential vital energies known as Earth, Ether, Water, Fire andWind, he performs cosmic dance in supreme bliss, he is adorned in venomous serpent as ornaments, he has most charming appearance, he represents Panchadhashakshara, he is Vishveshvara who is the commander of Universe, he has unique eyes, he is beyond Universe, he is supreme prector of the Universe, he represents Thrichathvarishatkona/43 shatkona, he is Chakreshvara who has supreme radiance, he is Navavarana Chakreshvara, he is beloved of Navachakreshvari, he is Nataneshvara and  Sabhanatha as well, he is worshiped by Simhavarma, he has colossal form, he represents Lord of Kleemkara, he is Aimkara Rudra, he is Thrishiva who represents greatest philosophies, he is pure, he has pleasant disposition, he is eternal, he is the essence of great philosophies, he is Rudra who has won over death, he is imperishable, he is Shambhu who is the essence of Pranava, he is not perceivable through senses, he repreents Thrigunas, he represents supreme intellect, Soma, and  greatest philosophies, he has marvelous form too/not terrible/Aghora, he destroyed the fire sacrifice of Dhakshaprajapathi, he crushed the pride of Kamadeva, and Gajasura, he has personified as Veerabhadhra, he is attired in skin of leopard, he is Sadhashiva, he has personified as mendicant, he is fond of people who sincerely follows austerities and vows, he has personified as Kankalabhairava, he crushed the pride of Nrisimha, he restrained the arrogance of Bhadhrakali, he is beyond human intellect, he is not perceivable through senses, his limbs are pure, he is infallible, he is beloved of Lord Bhrama and Lord Vishnu, he is Natesha who finds immense pleasure in the performance of cosmic dance, he is fond of passionate devotees, he is Lord of  five Sabhas famously known as Swarnnasabha/Goldensabha/Chidambaram, Velliyambalam/silver Sabha/Madura, Rathnasabha/Thiruvavaduthurai, Thamrasabha/copper/Nellaippar-Thirunelveli, and Chiththirasabha/ Thirukutralam, he is inseparable from Goddess Sri Shivakami, he is Shiva who symbolizes supreme bliss, I shall prostrate before Lord Maheshvara/Shiva who is mighty Lord along with Goddess Maheshvari/ShivA.
