Sage Narada speaks “ Oh! Thatheshvara who is the father of Lord Indhra and all the deities, Oh! Jagathpathe, kindly narrate the highly propitious hymn praising the splendor of half – lion and half-man incarnation of Lord Vishnu, which is capable to bring success in the three worlds.”


Lord Bhrama speaks “ Oh! Narada, Oh! Thapodhana, Oh! Puthrashreshta, listen to me carefully, I shall narrate the glorious armor of Lord Narasimha which is capable to provide success in the three worlds, worshiper who praise the splendor of beloved consort of Goddess Sri Mahalakshmi would attain excellence in speech, he represents Maheshvara who is the protector as well as destroyer of the Universe, these hymns are capable to ward off the evil spirit, illustrious Sage Dhurvassa, attained success in the three worlds after reciting these glorious verses taught by Krodhabhairava.  The glorious verses of Thrailokhyavijaya Kavacham were composed by Prajapathi Rishi, Gayathri as Chandhass, presiding deity is Nrisimha, and it is recited to attain Chathurvargaphala and serenity.  I shall reverentially prostrate before supreme Lord Nrisimha who has dreadful appearance, he symbolizes auspiciousness, he is death of deaths, he is extremely valorous, he is supreme Lord Mahavishnu who has great splendor, he is facing in all directions, I shall pronounce the sacred syllables of Kshraum Beejam to protect my head, he is lustrous like moon, he is Mahamanu, Oh! Bhagavathe, I shall recite the sacred syllables of Dhvathrimshadhakshara, which is equivalent to Kalpadhruma, kindly protect my throat, I shall pronounce the sacred syllables of Kshraum to protect my tip of nose and eyes, Oh! Narasimha, who has the resemblance to colossal fire, kindly protect my forehead, Oh! Deepthadhamshtra, who is having sharp and fierce protruding teeth, Oh! Agninethra whose eye has the resemblance to blazing fire, kindly protect my nose, Oh! Protector of all, kindly eradicate troubles from evil spirits and infectious illnesses, I shall recite the sacred syllables kindly protect my face, Oh! Ramachandhra I shall prostrate before you, kindly protect my re-productive organ, Oh! Kshadakshara, kindly protect my waist area, Oh! Om Namo Bhagavathe, kindly protects my feet, Oh! Vasudeva kindly protect my back portion of the body, Oh! Krishna, kindly protect my thighs, I shall pronounce the sacred syllables Kleem, Oh! Krishna, kindly protect my knees and calves, I shall pronounce the sacred syllables Keelm  Glaum Kleem, Oh! Shyamalanga whose limbs has dark blue complexion, I shall prostrate before you.  I shall pronounce the sacred syllables Kshraum Oh! Narasimha, kindly protect all my limbs. Oh! Vathsa, I have described the highly propitious hymn praising the splendor of sacred armor of Lord Narasimha, it should be recited after the veneration of preceptor, it provides abundance of piousness, and all the supernatural powers to worshiper, recitation of hundred eight sacred names followed with prescribed rite and fire sacrifices would provide commendable meritorious rewards, worshiper who recites or listens to it with intense faith and devotion would attain the eternal presence of Goddess Lakshmi and Goddess Vani in his/her home, veneration of Lord Narasimha with the flowers and recitation of these sacred verses would  provide abundance of piousness, worshiper who adorn the sacred armor written on the Bhurjapathra, on the neck or arm would attain the piousness of Lord Narasimha, worshiper would attain various supernatural powers, childless couple or women who gave birth to still born  would attain  offspring, worshiper would become renounced soul, and remain successful in the three worlds, worshiper would be freed from the troubles of spirits and demons,  ultimately  worshiper would be blessed with the eternal presence of Lord Narasimha in his/her home and village as well.”

I shall take refuge at the lotus feet of Goddess Varalaksmi  who is the daughter of ocean Sindhu, she resides in the abode of lotus flower, she is lotus born, she is divine personified who resides in the lotus flower, I shall take refuge at the lotus feet of  Goddes Gajalakshmi whose lotus feet are worshiped by all the deities, she is the source of welfare and growth of Universe and its living beings, she is the source of wealth and abundance of grains, she is adorned in garlands of lotus flower, I shall take refuge at the lotus feet of  Goddess Dhanalakshmi  who removes extreme sufferings and perils of the worshiper, she eradicates sufferings of poverty of her ardent devotees, she destroys Rinas/sins of the worshipers, she is purifier of soul, she is the source of welfare and happiness, I shall take refuge at the lotus feet of Goddess Shubhalakshmi, she eradicates extreme famine, she is the source all the auspiciousness in the Universe, she is the source of wealth, opulence, welfare, happiness, good fortune, richness etc.. I shall take refuge at the lotus feet of  Jayalakshmi who is the source of auspiciousness to Suras, she symbolizes wisdom and knowledge, she is beloved of illustrious Rishis and Sages, she is the source liberation from repeated births, she is the source of victory of Kings, and good fortune,  I shall take refuge at the lotus feet of supreme Goddess Lakshmi who is the protector of the clan of devotees, she is the source of development of clan, she elevates righteous  and devoted people, she is beloved of Madhusoodhana, she has lovely appearance.  I shall always surrender at the lotus feet of Mangalalakshmi who symbolizes all the auspiciousness and happiness, Vaibhavalakshi who is the source of good fortune, Sriharilakshmi who showers abundance of boons on worshiper,  Hail to Shodashalakshmi ! I shall always surrender at the lotus feet of Varalakshmi/boons, Dhanalakshmi/wealth, Jayalakshmi/victory, Gajalakshmi/richness, Adhilakshmi/primeval, Gnanalakshmi/wisdom, Dhanyalakshmi/grains, Bhagyalakshmi/good fortune, Mahalakshmi/auspiciousness, Santhanalakshmi/offspring,  Shanthalakshmi/peace, Siddhalakshmi/supernatural powers,  Mokshalakshmi/liberation from repeated births, Yogalakshmi/inspiration to Yoga, Bhogalakshmi/pleasures, Dhairyalakshmi/valor,  Veeralakshmi/courage and fearlessness, I shall repeatedly prostrate before them, kindly protect us. Oh! Devi, Oh! Vishnuvilasini, who symbolizes auspiciousness, removes sufferings and grief of worshiper, she is the source of all the auspiciousness, and happiness, she removes sufferings of poverty, she is adorned in various exquisite ornaments all over the body, she is the mother of Universe and its living beings, she is young beautiful woman initiated from milky ocean, Oh! Devi, who is the protector of ardent devotees, Oh! Lakshmi, who showers abundance of boons, kindly protect us. I shall take refugee at the lotus feet of Goddess Lakshmi whose eyes has the resemblance to fully blossomed lotus flower petals, she is beautifully smeared in turmeric on her cheeks, her lovely face has the luster of full moon, she resides on the lotus flower,  I shall surrender to the lotus feet of Goddess Lakshmi, who resides in the heart of worshiper, she represents their emotions, she resides in red lotus flower, she is beloved of worshiper, she is adorned in pearl decorated ornaments all over the body, I shall surrender to the lotus feet of Goddess Lakshmi who removes famine, and afflictions, she symbolizes nine types of grains, supreme wisdom and knowledge, she eradicates darkness of ignorance of worshiper, she removes sufferings of poverty, she is the source of good fortune, I shall surrender to the lotus feet of Goddess Lakshmi whose lovely face has the luster of Champa, her beautiful red lips resembles to Bimba fruit, she has sweet and melodious voice, she holds golden pitcher, I shall surrender to the lotus feet of Goddess Lakshmi who provides heaven as well as commendable virtues, she has pleasant disposition, she symbolizes all the Agamashasthras, she is flawless with divine symbols, her lotus feet are most venerable, she has endless glorious myths.  I shall surrender at the lotus feet of Goddess Lakshmi who is adorned in magnificent ear ornaments, she is adorned in marvelous bangles of precious yellow metal, and stunning anklets on her lotus feet. I shall surrender at the lotus feet of Goddess Lakshmi, who is forgiving and fulfills all the desires of the worshiper, she is younger sister to Lord Chandhra, she is the protector of deities, she removes bad luck, fears,  and distress, of the worshiper.  I shall surrender at the lotus feet of Goddess Lakshmi, who symbolizes Beejakashra,  sacred chants, colors, and sounds, she is the mother of Universe and its living beings, her beautiful eyes has the appearance of lotus flower petals. I shall surrender at the lotus feet of Goddess Lakshmi who resides in the abode of Bilva, Hail to Mother of Universe!  She is the source of happiness, wealth, welfare and abundance of grains, she is Srivaishnavi who symbolizes wealth and opulence, she has long and beautiful curly hair locks.  Oh!  Lakshmi, kindly reside in our homes, kindly reside in the homes of your passionate devotees, kindly bless us to live in happiness and serenity, kindly bless us with good health, good fortune, and eternal fame,  I shall surrender to lotus feet of Adhilakshmi, Sri Ashtalakshmi, who is chaste and beloved wife of Lord Vishnu.

Oh! Sri Lakshmi who symbolizes wealth and opulence, Oh! Supreme Goddess Mahalakshmi who is young maiden of Ksheerasagara/milky Ocean, taking immense pleasure in the association of Lord Hari, Oh! Sri Lakshmi who resides on the chest of Lord Vishnu, Oh! Ocean of mercy, you are the source of all the auspiciousness, kindly wake up! Oh! Sri Lakshmi who resides in the middle of lotus flower, whose eyes has the appearance of lotus flower petals, her lotus feet are worshiped with lotus flowers by Lord Bhrama, she was lotus born, she is the mother of Universe, her auspicious face has the luster of lotus flower, and she showers abundance of boon on worshiper, kindly wake up! Oh! Sri Lakshmi, who has the luster of Jamboonadha, she has great effulgence, she is adorned in various precious ornaments all over the body, and she is attired in gem decorated majestic silk clothes, kindly wake up! Oh! Sri Lakshmi, who is the source of all the supernatural powers, she fulfills all the desires of the worshiper, she always works favorable to Lord Vishnu, she is most pleasing to the heart of Lord Vishnu, she is worshiped by the pious and righteous people, she eradicates extreme fears and anxieties of the worshiper, she is the protector of her worshiper, Oh! I shall prostrate before supreme Lord Dhakshinamoorthi who is achievable to passionate worshiper, he resides under the shade of Vatavriksha/Peepal tree, he symbolizes abode of kindness, and contentment, Oh! Deva, kindly awake my intellect and bless me with the knowledge of self.  He is supreme preceptor who symbolizes endless mercy, he is primeval deity who resides under the shade of Vatavriksha, he is silent, he has pleasing smile on his face, and he imparts the supreme knowledge to the illustrious Rishis and Sages surrounded by him.  He diffuses the remaining lethargy of the illustrious Rishis and Sages with his superior gestures; he drives out the all – pervading illusion with his kindness, Oh! Deva, kindly impart the supreme consciousness of ‘Thaththvamasi’.  I shall reverentially prostrate before supreme Lord Dhakshinamoorthi, who is Preceptor of All preceptors, he symbolizes nectar like waves of extreme compassion, he is supreme consciousness who is perceivable through intense devotion and faith, he destroys the bondage of worldly existence with his sharp sword, and he is supreme ascetic. Oh! Deva, who is primeval, Oh! Vatamoolavasi, who resides under the shade of Vatavriksha, kindly shower your mercy to attain nearness to you, Oh! Deva who is the essence of Pranava, kindly impart the knowledge of Pranava and supreme wisdom and knowledge to put an end to my ignorance.  His limbs has the luster of moon, his attractive curly hair locks are kept loosened, I shall perceive that glorious form of Dheshika/supreme preceptor, he is infallible, he is eternal, he  has great effulgence of supreme knowledge and wisdom which diffuses the darkness of ignorance.  I shall repeatedly prostrate before supreme Lord Dhakshinamoorthi who is seated on particular posture, right leg placed on the knee of left leg, his lotus feet are adorned in Yogapattam, Apasmrithi/memory loss crushed under his feet.  I shall prostrate before supreme Lord Dhakshinamoorthi who is primeval deity and supreme preceptor of pious people, he symbolizes abode of attributes,  and highest philosophies,  he is youthful imparting supreme knowledge to illustrious Rishis and Sages. I shall prostrate before supreme Lord Dhakshinamoorthi who is Acharyachoodamani who is precious gem adorned in the head of preceptors, his hand in Chinmudra posture,  he holds Parashu and Mrigam/baby antelope, one hand that holds sacred scriptures rest on the knee.  I shall prostrate before Dheshikendhra who is supreme preceptor, he is smeared in rich fragrant musk and sacred ashes, he excels the beauty of Kamadheva, he is attired in skin of leopard, he destroys the wood fire like ignorance of the worshiper.  I shall perceive the glorious form of Lord Dhakshinamoorthi, who has pleasing smile on his face, he is adorned in crescent moon on the crown, he holds Veena, his attractive hair locks are kept loosened, he is contemplated upon by the illustrious Rishis and Sages in a state of ecstasy.  I shall meditate upon supreme Lord Dhakshinamoorthi who is Lord Mahesha, he destroys worldly bondage, lust and desires, he is worshiped by illustrious Sage Shuka who is absolute Bhramam.  I shall meditate upon supreme Lord Dhakshinamoorthi who has the luster of Kundhapushpa, he resides under the shade of peepal tree, and he is surrounded by illustrious Rishis and Sages who are staring at him with great honor, he destroys worldly bondage and desires, he imparts the highest knowledge of supreme consciousness with the divine gestures of his hand.   I shall meditate upon supreme Lord Dhakshinamoorthi who has lustrous limbs resembles to camphor, he has Agni as eye on forehead, he is attired in simple clothe, he is adorned in serpent as ornaments, his hand reveals highest of the gesture, he is immersed in deep meditation, he is flawless, he is pure. Oh! Deva, Oh! Dhakshinamoorthe, kindly initiate me to the supreme consciousness, so that I will get rid of dullness, foolishness, and ignorance. Oh! Mahase,  I shall prostrate before supreme Lord Dhakshinamoorthi, who resides under the shade of Vatavriksha, he is adorned in sparkling crescent moon on the crown, he has most attractive appearance, he has created the Universe and its living beings with his  spectacular illusion,  he has attractive curly hair locks kept loosened, he is adorned in crescent moon on the crown, his face has the luster of full moon, he has great radiance, he is pure, Oh! Chandhrakantha who has the luster of moon, he is extremely kind and compassionate to the ardent worshiper, his auspicious glance is enough to melt the hearts. Oh! Shashankamaule, who is adorned in crescent moon on the crown, kindly shower your auspicious grace on us, kindly bless us with opulence, wealth, richness, good fortune, abundance of grains, long life,  supreme knowledge and wisdom, and highest of the supreme consciousness.

|| Alpamrithyuharam Sri Nrisimha Kavacham – Sri Surya Arunasamvadham ||






The following are the glorious verses known as sacred armor of Nrisimha,  which is highly propitious, it removes the unexpected  and accidental death of the worshiper.


Aruna speaks “ Oh! Bhagavan, Oh! Devadevesha, kindly narrate the sacred armor of Nrisimha, which is highly confidential.”


Lord Surya speaks “Oh! Puthra, I shall narrate the glorious armor of Nrisimha which is highly auspicious, listening to it would eradicate all the perils of the worshiper.  It would remove evil effects caused by the changes in the planetary positions, evil spell or curses, afflictions caused by evil spirits, morbid element in the family, constant struggle, and troubles from enemies, or evil deeds, and it removes the critical illnesses.  Oh! Sarathe, it would destroy the dangers from water and fire, threat from enemies and wild animals, it would protect the worshiper while exploring through the dense wood and in the battle fields.  Whoever reads or adorn the armor as ornament would achieve success in all endeavors, protection, welfare, happiness, wealth, abundance of grains, opulence, prosperity, virtuous offspring, honor from kings, all the auspiciousness, progress of the clan, good health, and worshiper would be freed from fear of unexpected death.  This is the sacred armor which removes the unexpected and accidental deaths, recitation of these glorious verses for thousand and five times would protect the worshiper from the fear of unexpected or accidental death completely.”

“ I shall prostrate before supreme Lord  Nrisimha, I shall reverentially pray to Lord Narasimha to protect my head,  I shall earnestly pray to Nrikesari to protect my forehead, I shall pray to Narasimha to protect my eyebrows and  eyes, I shall earnestly pray to Nrisimha to protect my nose, I shall earnestly pray to Nrikesari to protect my ears, I shall earnestly pray to Nrisimha to  protect my face, I shall earnestly pray to Hari to protect my cheek bone, I shall earnestly pray to Nrisimha to protect my chin, I shall earnestly pray to Nrikesari to protect my throat, I shall earnestly pray to  Nrisimha to protect back of my shoulders, I shall earnestly pray to Nrikesari to protect my arms, I shall earnestly pray to Nrisimha to protect my hands, heart and stomach, I shall earnestly pray to Narahari to protect my belly, I shall earnestly pray to Nrikesari to protect my navel, I shall earnestly pray to Nrisimha to protect my pelvis and reproductive organs, I shall earnestly pray to Nrisimha to protect by knee, I shall earnestly pray to Nrikesari to protect my calves, I shall earnestly pray to Nrisimha to protect me from forefront, back, from  all the sides, and all my limbs, I shall earnestly pray to Nrisimha to protect from East, I shall earnestly pray to Nrikesari to protect me from Vahnikona/south-east quarter, I shall earnestly pray to Narasimha to protect me from  south – west, I shall earnestly pray to Narasimha to protect me from the west and north-west corner/Vayukona, I shall earnestly pray to Nrikesari to protect me from the upper areas, I shall earnestly pray to  Nrisimha to protect me from north-east, and elevated areas.  I shall earnestly pray to Nrisimha to protect me from the dangers of water and the floor,  I shall earnestly pray to Nrikesari to protect me from the dangers of Earth and   the sky,  Oh! Nrisimha, kindly protect me from all the dangers, threat from home and fortress, sorrows, fear and obstacles while leaving the material existence, kindly protect me from icy cold, scorching heat, hurricane, enemies, illnesses, extreme fears and anxieties, war fields, and all the miseries.  Oh! Lord Nrisimhan, kindly destroys my enemies and unexpected death with your powerful Chakra, kindly eradicate all those incurable illnesses, Oh! Nrisimha, kindly destroy the evil spirits with your Shakha, kindly protect me from  Kooshmanda, Balagraha, Yaksha, Dakini and Shakini, Oh! Nrisimha, kindly remove the unexpected and accidental deaths and worldly bondage with the Khadga, Oh! Nrisimha, kindly protect us always, Oh! Narasimha, kindly protect us from accidental and unexpected deaths, Oh! Nrisimha , you have propelled out of the pillar to protect your ardent devotee, you are there to protect us, hence what  can death do to me? Oh! Nrisimha, you have produced boisterous voice which made the deities to quiver, you are there to protect us, and hence what can death do to me? Oh! Nrisimha, you have ripped opened the chest of Hiranyakashipu with your fierce nails, you are there to protect us, hence what can death do to me? Oh! Nrisimha, you have frightened the three worlds with the intimidating cruel movement of your eye brows, you are there to protect us, and hence what can death do to me? Oh! Nrisimha, your dreadful appearance made the Deva and Dhaithya distressed, you are there to protect us, and hence what can death do to me? Oh! Nrisimha, remembrance of your name would burn all the impediments, you are there to protect us, hence what can death do to me? Oh! Nrisimha, all those creation dissolve on your lotus feet at the end of Yuga, you are there to protect us, and hence what can death do to me? Oh! Nrisimha, you are my mother, father, brother, and companion, Oh! Nrisimha, you are my strength, and wealth, Oh! Devadeva, you are everything to me.”


Lord Surya concludes “ Oh! Puthra, I have described the sacred armor of Lord Narasimha which is highly auspicious, whoever reads or listen to it would be protected from unexpected and accidental deaths.”
