Sri Yogavashista Saram – Jagathmithyathvam – 2 - Bhrama Sathyam Jagath Mithya -The Ajjana/lack of Athmajjana causes attachment to worldly matters and bondage, and the knowledge of Paramathma Parambhramam removes the Bandha and Pasha in the Jeeva, which is the root cause of sufferings of worldly existence

Chapter – 3 – Sri Yogavashista Saram – 21 – 30

Sage Vashishta speaks “ Oh! Ramachandra, the universe and it's living and non-living things are the essences of Bhramam, it is inseparable. The Paramathma Parambhramam resides as soul Athman/soul is the source of the functioning of the mind, intellect, Ahamkara, Prana, Karma, and Gnanendhriyas, hence the Athman is inseparable and indestructible, like the brilliance of Sun. The Sun and its brilliance are inseparable, if so, there is no existence of both. The Universe and its living and non-living things are the essences of that supreme Bhramam, has no existence without the Bhramam, like the clothe woven using the thread interlace across it, without the thread the clothe has no existence.  Paramathma Parambhramam resides as soul/Athman in the Jeeva causes the function of the Indhriyas, the lack of its presence would declare the Jeeva as ‘corpse’. The Universe and its living and non-living things initiated from the Bhramam merges in it at the end of Kalpa, the Universe is the waves initiated from the ocean of Bhramagnana, the Universe and its infinite Nama Roopa Dhrishya merges in the Bhramasagara, therefore the illusion caused Nama Roopa Dhrishya is none other than Bhramam/Sarvam Kalvitham Bhrama. The Athman/soul initiated from that Paramathma is not different from Bhramam, like the foam, waves and bubbles appeared on the surface of the water are inseparable from the water, if not, it has no existence. In this way, the scriptures and Shruthi repeatedly affirm ‘Bhrama Sathyam Jagath Mithya’. The Universe initiated from the Bhramam is not different from the all-pervasive Bhramam. The supreme Bhramam is eternal truth like the seeds have the innate capacity to grow as the huge tree of the abundance of leaves, fruits, and flowers, there is no existence of Phalam, Pathram, Vriksham, Latha, Pushpam without the seeds. The Athman/soul merges with the Paramathma Parambhramam same as the 1) mud pot created out of mud merges in the mud 2) golden ornaments merges in the gold and 3) the waves and foams merge in the water. The lack of Athmajjana/knowledge of self’/Athman, soul, destructible Prakrithi and Indestructible Purusha, causes to get attached to the infinite Nama, Roopa Dhrishya, like the mistaken rope causes trepidations, and the knowledge of rope removes the fear instilled. The Ajjana/lack of Athmajjana causes attachment to worldly matters and bondage, and the knowledge of Paramathma Parambhramam removes the Bandha and Pasha in the Jeeva, which is the root cause of sufferings of worldly existence. Oh! Rama, The Vismrithi’/forgetfulness of the Paramathma Parambhramam resides as a soul in the Jeeva, causes to get attached to the material matters, possession, richness, wealth, money, fame, people that have fleeting nature, the illusion caused to get wedged with the destructible nature of above-said matter and thereby the Jeeva hurls into constant fear and anguish, is same as the rope mistaken as a serpent. Oh! Ramachandra, the Dhrishya, and Nama Roopa in the Swapnavastha/dream gets faded in the Jagrathavastha/awakening state, and vice versa.  In the deep sleep, all those Nama Roopa Dhrishya of Jagrath and Swapnavastha disappears. In the same manner, Janma and Mrithyu are an illusion as well, all the living and non-living things initiated has to stay for a certain period of time/Prarabdhakarma, and merges with the Bhramam/Vileeyathe. Oh! Rama, the Sath/indestructible Purusha, and Asath/destructible Prakrithi is a mere illusion in the Jeeva, caused by the attributes/Vasana, Rajasik, Thamasik and Sathwik, natures accumulated from the previous births.”
