-54 -Sri Vinaya Patrika - Gajendhra
Moksham – Prahladha Charithram – Dhraupadhi Mana Samrakshanam – The infinite enemies such
as Kama, Krodha, Lobha, Moha, Madha, and Mathshcharya of the Jeeva
Sri Tulsidas Maharaj speaks “Oh! Madhava,
there is no one ignorant like me, the fishes and flies are called
Heenabudhdhi/dull-minded, even those fishes and flies cannot be compared with
me. The fishes get attracted to the worm hooked on the fishing rod and chase
after it and get trapped, the flies
get attracted to the lightning lamp and get closer to the fire, gets burned to
death. Alas! I have not stopped chasing after the material welfare, wealth,
money, fame, richness, possession, and attachment to wife, children, relatives, and companion, even after facing constant disgrace, grief, and loss of beloved
ones. I haven’t abandoned the chase of Vishayavisha after several setbacks,
hence I am ignorant as the Budhdhiheena Keeta, Pathanga, and fishes. I
haven’t stopped chasing the material welfare and people for the fleeting
natured happiness, I have easily abandoned the Charan Kamalaroopi ferry of Lord
Sri Ramachandra, and got attracted the Vishayavisha, and constantly suffering
from the grief of worldly existence, like the hungry dog holds the dried bone on
its mouth, keep chewing it and take great pleasure in the taste of its own
blood oozing out of its jaws, the dog does not realize that the blood oozing
from its own jawline. Oh! Prabho, I have abandoned your Charanakamalaroopi
ferry which could protect me from the suffering of worldly existence and
repeated births, I have tightened the grasp on Vishayavisha like material
matters, bodily pleasures, and attachment to people like the dog tightens its
hold on the dried bone on its mouth. Oh! Prabho, I have bitten by the Samsararoopi
venomous serpent, I am confused and shattered, alas! I haven’t taken shelter at
the lotus feet of Garudagamana Sri Hari, instead, I took shelter in Medak/frog
that constantly croaks. The water animals’ horde in the net consume each other
and wave off hunger, like that I have been in the crowd of wicked and deceitful
people who take pleasure in hurting each other. If Devi Saraswathi was
appointed to count my sins, she would be doing the same till the end of the
Yuga, alas! cannot complete it even after the Yugas. Oh! Prabho, you are
Pathitha Pavana who purifies even the distressed and sinners, Oh! Nath, I am
confident, my Lord Sri Ramachandra would protect me from the sufferings of
worldly existence.”
Sri Tulsidas Maharaj continues “Oh! Sri
Ram, you are too kind and compassionate to your devotees, have you forgotten
all those? You have used to rush to the Jeeva immediately after its cries for
help, you cannot withstand the grief of your devotees. Oh! Bhagavan, when the
Gajendra battled all alone with the crocodile for several years, found none of
his family could bring him out of the sufferings, did not leave the effort,
finally got all tired and shattered called out for your help. Oh! Prabho,
Karunanidhi, you did not waste a second to reach out for his help, soon after
listening to his pathetic call, you haven’t even waited for your celestial
vehicle, and protected Gajendra from the mouth of the death. Oh! Bhagavan, Veda
highly eulogizes your glories, your sincere devotee Prahaldha spent several
days and night in dread, was tortured by his own father Hiranya Kashipu, you
have proved the words of your child devotee true, you have assumed half lion
and half man and appeared in the pillar, ripped off the heart of demon Hiranya
Kashipu. Oh! Bhagavan, your sincere devotee Dhraupadhi was humiliated in the
large assembly of Kaurava, she was mercilessly brought before the huge assembly
of illustrious members of Kuru, and snatched away from her garments in front of her
husbands, she cried heart out calling for you “Oh! Nath protects me’, you have
supplemented with mountain-sized clothes and protected Devi Dhraupadhi, and
crushed the pride of the enemies. Oh! Raghunath, Prahladha, Gajendra, and Devi
Dhraupadhi were tortured by a single enemy and you have protected them all, but I
have been attacked by the infinite enemies of Kama, Krodha, Lobha, Moha, Madha,
and Mathshcharya, why don’t you remove my fear and sufferings of Samsara? Oh!
Bhagavan, the Lobharoopi crocodile, Krodharoopi demon king Hiranyakashipu,
Kamadevaroopi Dusshana who is a young brother to Duryodhana is giving me
unbearable pain. Oh! Sri Ramachandra, you are benevolent, kindly remove my
sufferings and grief.”
