Chapter 172 – Sri Vinaya Patrika – The pious Karma brings welfare and happiness and the sinful Karma brings grief and sufferings
Sri Tulsidas Maharaj speaks “Oh! Jeeva, human
mind is mysterious, it always desires for the fruits of Punya which is
difficult to achieve even for the ascetics, and noble-souls, but sadly it did
not keep away from the deeds of Papakarma or never get ashamed of sinful deeds.
Oh! Mind, all that you yearn for the fruits of propitious deeds, but never
withdrawn yourself from the sinful deeds, then how could you desire for the
happiness and welfare? Oh! Jeeva, you have achieved the rare birth as a human
in the Karmabhoomi Bharathavarsha, that too in the propitious Kali era, which
provides Mukthi with the simple gesture of recitation of Ramanama. Oh! Ignorant, you have wasted all your life
engaged in sinful deeds, immoral activities, engaged in abducting
Paradhara, and Paradhan, chosen to be in the association of wicked people, you
have drenched in AvidhyaMaya/ignorance, Ahamkara, Mamakara, Kama, Krodha,
Lobha, Moha, Madha, and Mathshcharya, and indulged in crores and crores of
Papakarma, hence how could you achieve the serenity of mind and Paramagathi? Oh!
Jeeva, the service to preceptors, and Santh Mahathma, Swadhyaya, learning Veda
and scriptures, Athma Vichara would remove the impurities of Ahamkara and
Mamakara, and bring the serenity of mind. Oh! Tulsi, Lord Sri Ramachandra
resemble Kalpavruksha which provides all that desired by the worshiper, exactly
like the mirror image of the person, the pious Karma brings welfare and
happiness and the sinful Karma brings grief and sufferings.”
