Chapter – 11 - Sur -Vinaya – Pathrika – Gajendra Moksham - The legend of King Ambareesha
Sri Surdas Maharaj speaks “Oh! Jeeva, I
have not seen a deity kind and compassionate as Lord Sri Hari, whoever
remembers the supreme Lord Hari would get protected from all the troubles
instantly. Gajendra who was caught on a leg by the crocodile in the pond, was
left alone by his family, friends, and relatives, fought against the crocodile
for several years, finally, he cried out calling for Lord Sri Hari. The compassionate
Lord did not wait for Goddess Sri Mahalakshmi or celestial vehicle Garuda, he
rushed to the pond with the disc and protected Gajendra from the clutch of the crocodile. King Ambareesha who was an ardent devotee of Lord Sri Hari met the wrath of
Sage Dhurvassa was got rid of the curse of the Sage and the compassionate Lord
showered an abundance of grace upon his devotee. All the deities and Sages have
witnessed the Sage Dhurvassa rushing to the abode of Bhrama, Vishnu, and
Maheshwara seeking protection from the fierce disc chased after him, finally, he
had to appeal to King Ambareesh and got saved himself. The sons of Pandu were
trapped in the Lakshagriha/wax house built by Kaurava, the compassionate Lord provided
them good intellect to get themselves saved from the horrific fire accident. Oh!
Jeeva, my Lord Sri Krishnachandra has protected his devotees in many ways, and
removed their fear of worldly existence.”
