The highly propitious Sri Mahathripura Sundhari Sahasranama was composed by Rishi Dhakshinamoorthi, Jagathi as Chandhas, presiding deity is  Samastha Prakata  Guptha Sampradhaya Kulakauloththeernna Nirgharbha Rahasya Chinthya Prabhavathi as Devatha, Om as Beejam, Hreem as Shakthi, Kleem as Keelakam, it is recited to attain Dharma/righteousness, Arththa/wealth, Kama/desires and Moksha/liberation from repeated births, I shall prostrate before Sri Bhagavan  Dhakshinamoorthi Rishi who is the composer of  glorious hymns of  Sri Mahathripura Sundhari and offer humble salutation with my head, I shall prostrate before  Jagathi Chandhas and shall offer humble salutation with my face, I shall prostrate before Samastha  Prakata Guptha Sampradhaya Kulakauloththeernna  Nirgharbha Rahasya Chinthya Prabhavathi Devatha and offer humble salutation with my heart, I shall prostrate before Om Beeja and offer humble salutation with my navel, I shall prostrate before Hreem Shakthi and offer humble salutation with my concealed part of the body, I shall prostrate before Kleem Keelaka and offer humble salutation bowing down with the feet, I shall prostrate before the propitious hymns which are capable to attain Dharma, Arththa, Kama and Moksha, and offer humble salutation with all my limbs,

Parvathi Priyanandhana/dearest son of Parvathi, kindly be seated I shall narrate the highly confidential myth to you.  Goddess Maha Thripurasundhari ,Devi Parashakthi who is the source of  Universe and its living beings, she is the essence of Sathvam, Rajas and Thamas, eventually Prakrithi was originated, she is the source of Universe, she is cause for the deluge of Universe and its living beings, she preserves the living beings and eradicates all kinds illnesses, she symbolizes Icchashakthi, Gnana Shakthi, and  Kriyashakthi, she is the female force of Bhrama, Vishnu, and Shiva, she represents  Shrishti/creation, Sthithi/preservation and Vinashini/deluge, she undertakes the function of creation as Bhrama, she undertakes the function of preservation as Vishnu, she undertakes the function of destruction as Rudra, these process continues from the origin of Universe, and the practice of creation and  destruction takes place repeatedly, I shall narrate the thousands of sacred names which are highly propitious to the three worlds, carefully listen to me.”

I shall meditate upon Jagathguru/preceptor of the Universe who has pleasing disposition,  resides on the highest peaks of Mount Kailasa, lustrous in various precious gem, seated under the Kalpakavruksha, decorated in various fresh alluring flowers, positioned in the middle of magnificent hall, he is worshiped by Sages and Rishis, and Gandharvas, he is decked in Kapala/skull, and Gadga, he is decorated with the crescent moon on matted hair locks, he carries Thrishula/trident and Damaru/drum on his hand, he is mounted on Mahavrishabha/divine celestial bull, he have attractive matted hair locks, he is adorned in serpent Vasuki around neck, he is smeared in sacred ashes, he is Neelakanda who has bluish throat and he has three eyes, he is attired in the skin of leopard, he is lustrous like pure crystal, he has the radiance of thousands of Adithya, he is adorned Goddess Girija on half of the body, I shall earnestly prostrate before supreme Lord who is the source of Universe and its living beings.


Karthikeya speaks “ Oh! Devadeva/Lord of Lords, Oh! Jagannatha/Lord of Universe, who symbolizes Shrishti/creation, Sthithi/preservation and Laya/destruction, You are Paramathman, you are the safest haven to all the living beings in the Universe, you are the ultimate shelter place for the distressed people, you are the essence of Universe and you are the source of it, you are deserved to be venerated, I have no shelter place other than you, therefore kindly narrate which is the most supereme hymn that provide all kinds of supernatural powers, highly propitious, capable to provide Yoga, heven and ultimately Moksha, achievable to humans without undertaking trip to sacred places or severe austerities and penance, or charity, or deep meditation, Oh! Maheshvara, you are the cause of creation, preservation and destruction of the Universe and its living being, you are capable to eradicate all the miseries and sorrows of the Samsara, hence kindly narrate  I would like to hear from you.”
