Sri Rama Ashtothara Shathanama Sthothram – Lyrics and meanings

I shall prostrate before supreme Lord Rama who was born in the clan of Raghu, he is the son of the prominent Emperor Dhasharatha, he is the consort of Sita who shines like the gem studded light that spreads supreme radiance in the clan of Raghu, and Rama is well built with powerful arms, he has the eyes resemblance to lotus flower, he is Lord Rama who is the destroyer of demons.  I shall meditate upon Lord Rama along with Goddess Sita, who is seated in a marvelous throne decorated with flowers and bells in the middle of a magnificent dias built with precious gold metal, he is surrounded by Sages and Rishis, Bharatha etc… he is eternal, he has the eyes resembles to lotus flower, he is flawless, he is consort of Lord Sri, he resembles Lord Indhra among the kings, he is the lion in the Raghu clan, he is most desirable to Janaki, he is an ideal friend, he is Janardhana, he is adored by Maharishi Vishwamithra, he is capable to protect whoever surrenders to him, he is the slayer of  the mighty Vanara Vali, he is the strict follower of truth and he takes all efforts to protect the truth, he is righteous, he is the follower of strict austerities, he is closely dependent to Hanuman, he is the son of Koushalya, he is the destroyer of demons Khara, Viradha with his divine bow and arrow Kodhanda, and provided shelter to Vibheeshana, he is the slayer of Dhashagreevha/Ravana, he is the slayer of the demon Thadaka who created impediments to the Yagna of the Rishis and Sages, he is the essence of Veda, he is the soul of Veda, he guides to cross the ocean of Samsara, he is the slayer of Dhooshana and Thrishirass, he is one among the Trinities who represents Thrigunas/Swathik, he is personified as Thrivikrama, he is the soul of the three worlds, he is eulogized by glorious myths, he is the protector of three worlds, he is manifested with the divine bow, he ruled the woods of Dhandaka, he purified Ahaliya from the curse, he is highly devoted to his father, he is the provider of boons, he has perfect control overs senses and anger, he has various close associates, he is the preceptor to the Universe, he lived with the bear/Jambavan and Vanaras in Chithrakooda, he saved the life of Jayantha and provided boon, he is relentlessly served by Soumithrinandhan/Lakshmana, he is the Lord of Lords, he has given life to the monkey warriors who died in the battle, he destroyed the Mareecha who had illusionary powers, he is the Lord of the Universe, he has powerful arms, he is eulogized by all the deities, he is gracious, he is admired  Bhramins and Sages, he is supreme Yogi, he is compassionate, he regained the Kingdom of Kishkindha for Sugriva and performed his coronation ceremony, he is the provider of auspiciousness, he is primordial, he is flawless, he is beyond comparison, he is too compassionate and provides all the auspiciousness to his devotees, he is flawless eulogized by sacred scriptures, he has always smiling face and speaks little, he is eternal, he is the store house of virtues, he is majestic, he is valorous and virtuous, he is divine entity personified as human worshiped by Lord Mahadeva and all the deities, he built a majestic bridge Sethu across the ocean, he dwells in all the sacred waters, he has attractive limbs, he is charming, he is fearless, he is attired in majestic yellow clothes, he is wielded with the bow, he is the supreme authority for all the Yagna, he is the remover of Jara/aging and death of his ardent devotees, he reinstated the glory of Vibheeshana, he is sinless, he is Paramathma, he is Parambhramam, he is Sacchidhanandha/eternal bliss, he is supreme light/supreme radiance, he is the safest heaven, he is beyond description, he is Parathpara, he is the Lord of the Universe, he is supreme Lord, he is the Lord of Lords, he is Para/beyond description.
