Maharishi Narada continued “ As soon as
Rama arrived in the lush land of Chithrakooda, King Dhasharatha attained the
abode of heaven due to the pain of separation from his elder son. Bharatha was approached by Sage Vashishta and
prominent Bhramins from the assembly of King and advised him to take up the
ruling of Kingdom of Ayodhya, immediately after the demise of King Dhasharatha
was courteously refused by him. Bharatha
who is valorous like Rama, righteous and most beloved to Rama proceeded towards
woods. Bharatha who is profound in
Dharmashasthra, compassionate, truthful and valorous spoke to Rama “ you are
the symbol of righteousness, therefore you are the King of Ayodhya.” Rama who is selfless, pleasant, well famous
and fearless sincerely followed the command of his father and offered his
Padhukas at the request of Bharatha to carry out the functions of the Kingdom
as a representative of Rama, and send him back to Ayodhya. Bharatha settled in Nandhigramam and
continued veneration of the Padhukas of his beloved brother Rama and carried
out the affairs of the kingdom, he patiently waited for the return of
Rama. Rama who is truthful, firm and
has complete control over senses, after sending back Bharatha, he decided to
move out of Chithrakooda expecting the arrival of the people of Ayodhya. Eventually he entered in the wild forest of
Dhandakaranya. Rama who has the eyes
resembles to lotus flower killed the demon Viradha in Dhandakavanam. He met illustrious Rishis Sharabhanga,
Sutheekshana and Agasthya. Rama received
fierce weapons like sword, bow/Gadgam and arrows of Lord Indhra with extreme
delight at the command of Sage Agasthya.”
