Neelanjana Samabhasam Raviputhram Yamagrajam | Cchaya Marthanda Sambhootham Tham Namami Shanaishcharam ||



I shall prostrate before supreme Lord Shanaishchara who is the son of Lord Surya and younger brother to Lord Yama, I shall prostrate before Lord Shanaishchara who was born to  Devi Cchaya and Lord Marthanda, and has the luster of lightning.



I shall prostrate before supreme Lord Shanaischara who is the provider of long life, he follows strict disciplines, he dwells as soul in the three worlds, he gets pleased by the recitation of his sacred names and provides abundance of boons to the worshiper, he is the son of Adithya, he destroys the worldly bondage of worshiper, he protects the souls, he protects the souls from the perils, he symbolizes bliss, he is the provider of long life to the worshiper, he passes verdict after thorough consideration of the situation, he is favorable,  he dwells as soul in living beings, he provides appropriate companion, he is Athmarama, he is primordial, he destroys perils and afflictions of the worshiper, his lotus feet is worshiped by Lord Indhra and attained various Indhrabhoga/sensual pleasures, he has the appearance of Lord Indhra and provides all kinds of boons desired, he fulfils all the desires of the worshiper, he has the luster of full moon, he is the provider of boons desired by his worshiper, he is dear to Indhiraramana, he is worshiped by the Kings in the clan of Indhra, he is worshiped by Indhiraramana/darling of Indhra, he represents senses, he is beloved to Eshwara, he eradicates  worldly desires/Eshana such as Dhareshana/attachment to wife, Dhaneshana/attachment to wealth and Puthreshana/attachment to offspring, he is Umasvaroopa who  has possessed tranquility, splendor and fame, he imparts knowledge, he is Ushana, he is fond of ceremonial rite, he takes immense pleasure in the veneration of Umadevi, he provides superior boons, he is supreme Lord who enlighten the knowledge of Yoga and provider of valor, he explores through the elevated realms and he is the commander of the prominent realms, he is mighty, he has short leg, he is worshiped with the sacred syllable ‘Rik’, he is eulogized by Rishis, he is eulogized by sacred scriptures, he is worshiped by Rishis, he is venerated by the recitation of Rigveda, he represents Rig, he strictly follows Rijumarga/innocent way of life.
