I shall prostrate before supreme Lord Shanaishchara who is the son of Lord Surya and younger brother to Lord Yama, I shall prostrate before Lord Shanaishchara who was born to  Devi Cchaya and Lord Marthanda, and has the luster of lightning.




I shall prostrate before supreme Lord Shanaishchara who is pleased to listen the recitation of thousands of sacred names, he causes destruction/termination, misfortune, troubles, anxiety and fear as punishment for the evil deeds and he causes deluge at the end of Yuga, he has serene disposition, he is assigned to impose punishments on wicked deeds, he is decked in various ornaments, he has dark complexion, he gets pleased with the offering of cow as charity, he has pleasing nature, he is supreme Lord among the deities, he represents auspicious sounds, he is doer of auspiciousness, he is closest associate of the worshiper, he symbolizes prosperity, he is divine personified, he is Sarvajja/omniscient, he is omnipresent, he symbolizes eternal bliss, he has beautiful neck, he is valorous, he is attractive with beautiful eyes, he is illustrious, he is Sacchidanandha/symbolizes permanent bliss, he is great warrior, he is promising to righteous people who are surrendered to his lotus feet, he is worshiped by Harishchandhra, he abandon the wicked people, he has provided various boons as desired by Harishchandhra, he is eulogized with Hamsamanthra, he is worshiped by the deity who has Hamsa as celestial vehicle, he has provided abundance of boons to  Hamsavaha, he is loving and contented, he is Harisakha/closest associate of Hari, he is supreme ascetic, he has slow gait of Hamsa, he is eulogized with sacred chants, he has golden complexion, he always works for the welfare of human beings, he is the provider of happiness, he is decked in precious ornaments all over his body, he gracefully accepts  oblation from fire sacrifices, he symbolizes Yajja and Yajjakartha as well, he has slow gait, he is eulogized with Hamsamanthra, his lotus feet is worshiped by Lord Hanuman, he is worshiped by Haladhara/Balarama, he always works for the wellbeing of the living beings, he dwells in the sacred shrine, he eradicates famine and miseries, he can be cruel, he has high level of forbearance, he represents prosperity, he is an ornament to Earth, he pardon the virtuous who are surrendered at his lotus feet, he symbolizes forbearance, he  obstructs ruin in the life of worshiper who eulogizes him with Ashtasahasrakam and all the desires of the worshiper would be fulfilled, above are the sacred names equivalent to watercourse composed with great effort should be recited with utmost faith and austerity.  Thus concludes the sacred thousands of names of Lord Shanaishchara.
