Sri Kalika Sahasranama Sthothra is highly propitious hymn composed by  Rishi Mahakalabhairava, it has Anushtup as Chandhas, presiding deity is Kalikadevatha who dwells in Shmashana/funeral grounds, it is recited to please Goddess Kalika.



I shall prostrate before Goddess Sri Kalika who dwells in the funeral grounds, she is Kali, Badhrakali/beautiful, brave and Kapalini/who is adorned in garlands of skulls as well, she is Guhyakali/highly confidential, Mahakali/mighty Goddess, she caused enmity and quarrel in the clan of Kurus, she is Kalika, Kalarathri/dark hours of night, she is Mahakali who has attractive physical features/batuiful hip, she is the consort of Kalabhairava, she represents doctrines of illustrious lineage and causes development of illustrious clan, she fulfils the desires of the worshiper, she lures the heart of worshiper with her attractiveness, she symbolizes desire and loveliness, her blue complexioned body is anointed in rich fragrant vermilion, she follows Kujjareshvara, she symbolize sacred syllable ‘Ka’, she has most attractive stature, she is Kamasundari/who represents passionate sport, she is Kamadhenu/sacred cow, she represents all kinds of art forms, she is lustrous, she is Kamaroopa/lures the heart of worshiper with her mesmerizing beauty, she is Kamakhya who protects illustrious clan, she is modest, she is supreme Goddess of illustrious clan, she is Durga who destroys all kinds of miseries and sorrows of the worshiper, she is Kaumari/youthful and born in the noble family, she has dark blue complexion, she is Krishna, she has beautiful thin waist line, she has beautiful thin limbs and it has the resemblance to thunderbolt of Lord Indhra, she symbolizes the sacred syllable ‘Klim’, she is Kamala/Goddess Sri Mahalakshmi and she represents all kinds of art forms, she is formidable/dreadful, she is Karali who destroys wicked people, she is fierce, she has supreme effulgence, she dwells in the intellect of Vipra, she is mighty Goddess who represents particular number and wealth, she has armed body, she represents essential elements, mother and father, Mudhra/expression of words in gestures, she has dark blue complexion, she is Bhrami, Narayani and  Bhadhra, she is the protector of Earth and she is too compassionate to her worshiper, she is Maheshvari/consort of Lord Maheshvara, Chamunda/one of the seven mothers, Varahi/consort of Lord Varaha, and Narasimhika/consort of Lord Narasimha as well, her powerful limbs represents Vajra, she is Shivaa who is consort of Lord Shiva wielded in fierce weapon and garland of skulls, she is unblemished, she is decked in garlands of human skull and various ornaments, she is anointed in red sandalwood paste and she is decorated her forehead in vermilion, she have dreadful form with vicious teeth, she is the provider of auspiciousness to her worshiper, she have fierce and mighty teeth, she is Mahamaya who is great illusionist, she has attractive line of teeth and uneven teeth as well, she has beautiful  three eyes/sulochana,Thrilochana  and curved eyes/Viroopakshi and wide eyes/Vishalakshi, she has the luster of autmn moon and fully blossomed lotus flower, she takes immense pleasure in her boisterious voice, she has beautiful smile on her face and she speaks in melodious voice, she has pleasing disposition resembles to fully blossomed lotus flower and always speaks favorable and in lovely tone.
