Oh! Krishnasthuthe who is worshiped by Lord Krishna, Oh! Lalithe, Oh ! Akileshi  kindly shower your mercy up on us, Oh! Durge, Oh! Pareshi who is not perceivable through senses and she is beyond human intellect, she is the provider of all kinds of auspiciousness to worshiper, I shall meditate upon supreme Goddess Maheshi who is beloved consort of Lord Maheshvara, she symbolizes compassion and love, she is deserved to be worshiped, she is supremely gorgeous, she eradicates miseries and sorrows of the worshiper, she is divine personified. Oh! Krishnasthuthe who is worshiped by Lord Krishna, Oh! Lalithe, Oh ! Akileshi  kindly shower your mercy up on us, she is charming, she is the essence of Shruthi, she is Bhaveshi, she is personified as Madhaveshi/beloved of Madhava, she is embodied as Earth, she is personified as the daughter of Gireesha/Mount Himavan, she is restrained, she is Shiveshi/beloved of Lord Shiva. Oh! Krishnasthuthe who is worshiped by Lord Krishna, Oh! Lalithe, Oh ! Akileshi kindly your shower mercy up on us, she is personified as Raseshvari/Radharani, she eradicates all kinds of miseries and sorrows of her worshiper, she is born in illustrious clan, she is fond of righteousness, she eradicates all kinds of fears in worshiper, she is fond of showering abundance of boons to passionate worshiper, she is Vagdevatha who gives excellence in speech, she is wise, she is seated on the freshly bloomed lotus flower. Oh! Krishnasthuthe who is worshiped by Lord Krishna, Oh! Lalithe, Oh ! Akileshi kindly shower your mercy up on us, she is deserved to be worshiper, she is mounted on Mahavrishabha/celestial bull, she symbolizes auspiciousness, she is Padma who is lotus born, she is Digambari who represents sky, she is Maheshvari who is consort of Lord Maheshvara, she merrily explores through the dense woods/Kananeshi, she is Gayeshi who is the presiding deity in sacred land of Gaya, she represents all the female deities. Oh! Krishnasthuthe who is worshiped by Lord Krishna, Oh! Lalithe, Oh ! Akileshi  kindly shower your mercy up on us, she symbolizes faith and beliefs, she is worshiped by Suras and Asuras as well, she is omnipresent, she is embodied as sacred waters, she is embodied as sacred river Ganga, she is beloved of Gireesha, she is mother of Gananayaka/Ganesha, she is personified as the daughter of Dhakshaprajapathi, she merrily dwells in the funeral grounds, she is the mother of Suranayaka/Karthikeya. Oh! Krishnasthuthe who is worshiped by Lord Krishna, Oh! Lalithe, Oh ! Akileshi  kindly shower your mercy upon us, she is Thara who guides us to safely cross the ocean of Samsara, she is too compassionate, she is the destroyer of Madhukaitabha, she is personified as Vidhyeshvari who imparts supreme wisdom and knowledge, she is storehouse of virtues, she is eminent, she have large and high raised bosom, she is primeval deity, she is Mukthakeshi who has beautiful long curly hairlocks kept loosened. Oh! Krishnasthuthe who is worshiped by Lord Krishna, Oh! Lalithe, Oh ! Akileshi  kindly shower your mercy upon us,  she is Vishvambara who carries whole Universe in her womb, she is omnipresent, she is mighty Goddess and promising as well, she is unconquerable, she dwells in the peaks of Mount Vindhyachala, she has beautiful face resembles to full moon, she is merciful, she is the mother of Universe and its living beings, she has beautiful attractive eyes resembles to lotus flower petals, she is graceful, she is deserved to be meditated.  The above are the glorious verses of Durgashtakam should be recited in the early hours of dawn, it would fulfils all the desires of the worshiper  with the grace of Lord Hari and Hara, worship of Goddess Durga with various Upacharas/prescribed rites and offerings, would provide all that desired by the worshiper.
