Sri Ashtalakshmi Mahamanthra Sthothram – Lyrics and meanings

|| Sri Lakshmi Narayana ||

The sacred hymns praising Lord Sri Lakshminarayana /Sri RamAnatha is highly promising, it was composed by Narayana Rishi, it has Virat as Chandhass, presiding deity is Sri Lakshminarayana, It has Am as Beejam, Um as Shakthi, Mam as Keelakam,  it is recited to please Lord Sri Lakshmi Narayana.   I shall meditate upon Lord Sri Lakshminarayana who is adorned in Srivathsam on his chest, he is Vishnu who is wielded on Shankha and Chakram, Goddes Sri Lakshmi who remains in the tembrace on his left, he is attired in majestic yellow silk garments, his right leg on the ground and left leg is folded, his right hand in Abhayahastha posture, left hand in the embrace of Lakshmi, he has attractive curly hair locks, he is attired in yellow majestic cloth, he is adorned in golden sacred thread across the chest, I shall  meditate upon RamAnatha after finishing the proceedings of veneration.

The glorious verses praising the splendor of Goddess Sri Adhilakshmi was composed by  Bhargava Rishi,  it has Anushtup and various Chandhass,  presiding deity is Goddess Sri Adhilakshmi,  Sreem as Beejam,  Hreem as Shakthi,  Aim as Keelakam,  it is recited to please Goddess Sri Adhilakshmi.  I shall meditate upon  Gooddess Sri Adhilakshmi who has two powerful arms, she has two eyes, her hands are in Abhaya and Varadhahastha postures repectively, she is adorned in garlands of fresh alluring flowers, she is divine personified seated on the lotus flower, she is seated in the middle of magnificent hall decorated in various flower garlands and earthen lamps that spreads intense luster all over the area, she is flawless, she is decked in various precious ornaments all over the body, she is attired in majestic white garment, she is adorned in marvelous crown and various ornaments, she is epitome of beauty, she is Shakthi as well as Adhilakshmi.

|| Sri Santhanalakshmi ||

The glorious verses praising the splendor of Goddess Sri Santhanalakshmi was composed by  Bhrigurishi, it has  Nichyth Chandhass,  presiding deity is Goddess Sri Santhanalakshmi,  Sreem as Beejam,  Hreem as Shakthi,  Kleem as Keelakam,  it is recited to please Goddess Sri Santhanalakshmi.  I shall meditate upon Goddess Sri Santhanalakshmi who has attractive hair locks, she is firm, her one hand in Abhayahastha posture, she carries Poornnakumbham in one hand, she is attired in crisp elegant garment, she is adorned in various pearl decorated ornaments, her two associates are immersed in serving her with Dheepam and Chamaram on both the sides, she is youthful and too compassionate, she is Maharajji /Empress as well as  Santhanalakshmi who fulfils all the desires of the worshiper.

The glorious verses praising the splendor of Goddess Sri Gajalakshmi was composed by  Shukra Rishi, it has Anushtup as Chandhass, presiding deity is Goddess Gajalakshmi,  Kam as Beejam,  Mam as Shakthi, Lam as Keelam,  it is recited to please Goddess Sri Gajalakshmi.  I shall meditate upon  Goddess Sri Gajalakshmi  who has four powerful arms, she is Mahalakshmi who is worshiped by two elephants on both the sides, her beautiful eyes has the resemblance to lotus flower petals, her two hands are Varadha and Abhayahastha posture respectively, she carries lotus flower on the upper hand, she is attired in white elegant garment, she is seated on the lotus flower, she is Gajalakshmi.

The glorious verses praising the splendor of Sri Dhanalakshmi was composed by Parambhrama Rishi, it has Anushtup as Chandhass, presiding deity is Dhanalakshmi, Lam as Beejam,  Dham as Shakthi, Mam as Keelakam, it is recited to please Sri Dhanalakshmi.   I shall meditate upon Goddess Sri Dhanalakshmi who is decked in magnificent crown, she has the complexion of precious yellow metal, she is decked in various precious ornaments all over the body, she has pleasing disposition, she carries Poornnakumbha on her right hand, she carries Chakram, Banam, Thamboolam on left hand, she is wielded in Shankham, lotus flower, Chapam, and a golden vessel on her hand, her large high raised bosom is covered beautifully, she is Dhanalakshmi who is epitome of beauty.

The glorious verses praising the splendor of Goddess Sri Dhanyalakshmi was composed by Parambhrama Rishi, it has Anushtup as Chandhass, presiding deity is Sri Dhanyalakshmi,  Dham as Beejam,  Lam as Shakthi, Mam as Keelakam, it is recited to please Sri Dhanyalakshmi.   I shall meditate upon Goddess Sri Dhanyalakshmi  whose hands are  in Varadha and Abhayahastha posture respectively, she is decked in marvelous crown that spreads intense luster,  she is lotus born, her eyes has the resemblance to lotus flower petals, she has the appearance of fruit of Kadamba, she has the resemblance to lotus flower, she has eight powerful hands, she is unblemished, she is attired in white crisp garment, she symbolizes kindness, she has attractive hair locks, she has pleasing disposition, she is well decorated, she is  decked in various precious ornaments all over the body, she is enthusiastic, she is stunningly gorgeous, she symbolizes wealth and grains.

The glorious verses praising the splendor of Goddess Sri Vijayalakshmi was composed by  Narada Rishi,  it has various Chandhass, presiding deity is Sri Vijayalakshmi,  it has Lam as Beejam,  Ksham as Shakthi,  Yam as Keelakam, it is recited to fulfil all the desires of the worshiper.  I shall meditate upon Goddess Sri Vijayalakshmi who has powerful eight arms, she is divine personified seated on the majestic throne, she has pleasing disposition, she has attractive long and curly hair locks, she is decked in magnificent crown, she has the complextion of dark clouds, she is gorgeous with attractive limbs, she is decorated in various precious ornaments all over the body, she is wielded in Gadgam, Pasham, Chakram  and one hand in Abhyahastha posture, she carries Gedam, Angusham, Shankha and left hand in Varadhahastha posture, she is an Empress attired in grandeur, she is Shakthi, she has supreme radiance, she is mounted on swan, she symbolizes victory, she is the provider of success in endeavors.

The glorious verses praising the splendor of Goddess Dhairya Lakshmi was composed by  Rishi Narada, it has Thrushtup as Chandhass,  presiding deity is Veeralakshmi,  Lam as Beejam,  Ram as Shakthi, Lam as Keelakam,  it is recited to  attain good health,  fortune, various siddis, and to please Goddess Sri Veera Lakshmi.  I shall meditate upon Goddess Sri Veeralakshmi who has eight powerful arms, she is Lakshmi who is seated on majestic throne, she has supreme radiance, she is decked in magnificent crown, she is adorned in various precious ornaments that spreads intense luster all over, she symbolizes auspiciousness, she is attired in crisp crimson colored garment, her hands are in Abhaya and Varadhahastha posture respectively, she is wielded in Chakram, Shoolam, Banam, Shankham, Chapam and Kapalakam, she is Dhairyalakshmi who symbolizes nine rhythms.

The glorious verses praising the splendor of Goddess Sri Aishvarya Lakshmi  was composed by Rishi Bhrama,  it has Jagathi as Chandhass, presiding deity is Goddess Sri Mahalakshmi, it has  Hram as Beejam, Hreem as Shakthi, Hroom as Keelakam, it is recited to  please Goddess Sri Mahalakshmi.  I shall meditate upon Goddess Sri Mahalakshmi who has powerful four arms, she has two eyes, her two hands are in Abhaya Varadhahastha posture, she carries lotus flower in two hands, she is seated on the lotus flower, she carries golden vessel heaped in precious yellow metal, she  is decked in various precious ornaments all over the body, she is attired in pure crimson colored garment, she is served by her associates with Chamara on both the sides, I shall meditate upon that glorious form from toe to head.
