Sri Medhadhakshinamoorthi Sahasranama Sthothram – Lyrics and meanings 1 - 11

The highly propitious hymns of Sri Medha Dhakshinamoorthi Sahasranamasthothra was composed by Bhrama Rishi, Gayathri as Chandhass, presiding deity is Dhakshinamoorthi, Om as Beejam, Swaha as Shakthi, Nama: as Keelakam, it is recited to please Lord Medhadhaskhinamoorthi.


 I shall meditate upon supreme Lord Medha Dhakshinamoorthi who is seated under the Vatavruksha in the middle of magnificent Kadamba woods, he symbolizes Siddhi, he is immersed in the ocean of meditation, he has is adorned in various precious gems and he has most charming appearance, he is majestically seated, he is Purusha who has neither beginning nor end, he has the luster of crystal, he is adorned in crescent moon, he has the appearance of sparkling  autumn moon, he holds Akshamala on the right hand and colossal fire on the left, he has attractive matted hair locks adorned in cool rays of crescent moon, he is adorned in serpent as garland,  armlets, and  marvelous waist ornament, he is seated on the Vrishabham, he is attired in skin of leopard, he represents precious gem Chinthamani surrounded by illustrious Rishis and Sages, he represents Kalpavriksha and Kamadhenu, Chathushashtikala/64 art forms, he is the essence of Shruthi, he is mounted on grand throne decorated in diamond,  he is attired in skin of leopard, he has mesmerizing form  adorned in lotus flowers and flowers of Karnnika, he is majestically seated keeping the right lotus feet straight on the floor, one hand in Gnanamudra posture, he holds sacred scriptures, he is Hara who showers abundance of boons, he eradicates extreme fears and anxieties, Mahapasmara is crushed under his lotus feet, he is adorned in garlands of Rudraksha, he is beautifully smeared in sacred ashes, he is covered in skin of elephant as upper clothe, he has pleasing smile on lotus face, he is surrounded by Siddhas, Yogis, and illustrious Rishis and Sages, he represents honorable Vrishabha, he has Agni, Surya, and Chandhra as three eyes, his auspicious glance fulfills all the desires of the worshiper who are surrendered at his lotus feet, he is supreme bliss who represents all the art forms.
