Sri Sanathsujatheeyam – Sri Mahabharath -  Sri Shankarabhashyam – Bhashyam - 17– Pramadha is Mrithyu

Chapter 12 - Bhashyam – 17 – Pramadha is Mrithyu

The Pramadha/ignorance causes ‘Mrithyu’, lack of knowledge of the all-pervasive supreme Bhramam resides as a soul in the Jeeva is free from miseries and sorrows, it has the nature of supreme bliss, changeless, unblemished, and it has neither birth nor death, causes the function of mind, intellect, Ahamkarana, Prana, Gnana, and Karmendhriya.  The ignorance causes ‘I’ consciousness/me, mine and myself/ and ‘body consciousness’, the Jeeva get attached to material matters, people, wealth, money, fame, etc. that has fleeting nature, in short the Jeeva hurls into constant miseries and sorrows. The impurities of the mind, Kama, Krodha, Lobha, Madha, Moham, and Mathshcharya are the greatest enemies of the Jeeva is known as ‘Asyam’, and the assemblage of lust, desire, greed, jealousy, arrogance, anger, and pride are the ‘Mrithyu’/Pramadha. The Jeeva drenched in ignorance/Raga and Dhvesha forgets the real nature of supreme Bramham resides as soul, consider themselves as Kshathriya, Brahmana, Vaishya, and Shudhra, born in the higher clan, etc. eventually they take pride in their parents, families, children, etc. continue to perform Shrautha and Smartha Karma in their own way which is not prescribed in the scriptures or Veda, finally fails to achieve the ultimate asylum/ the abode of Paramathma. The ignorant Jeeva engages in the performance of Avidhyakama Karma/performance of Karma without the knowledge of it, the performance of Karma to yearn specific objective, the performance of Karma with the false notion, in order to achieve the Asath, has the fleeting nature of happiness. Bhagavan says “the Pramadha/ignorance causes Mrithyu, the Mrithyu is Kama and Krodha as well. The Krodha born from the Kama, enhances the Ahamkara/pride in the Jeeva, once the Jeeva wedged in the darkness of ignorance like Ahamkara, begins to perform immoral deeds, cannot achieve the ‘Athmayoga’ union with supreme Bhramam which is pure and free from afflictions, has the nature of supreme bliss resides as soul, eventually the Jeeva hurls into constant miseries and sorrows and repeated births. The ignorant Jeeva swelled with pride, jealously, ego, arrogance, lust, desires, anger, and excessive interest in worldly matters and people get heaved into the vicious cycles of rebirths. These ignorant Jeeva take birth again and again and go through endless miseries and sorrows.
