Sri Guru Gita – Sri Skandhapuranam Uththarakhanda Umamaheshwara Samvadham – Chapter 2 – Phala Shruthi/The meritorious rewards upon reading or listening to the glorious verses of Sri Guru Gita

Chapter – 10 – Sri Guru Gita – 101 – 110

Lord Mahadeva speaks “Oh! Devi, the ignorant Jeeva due to the persuasion of illusion/Maya gets drenched in the Laukikakarma/performance of spiritual and religious deeds for the welfare of the family or for the accomplishment of personal achievements, chases after the material welfare for the appeasement of the senses, get attached to the material matters of destructible nature and constantly undergoes grief and sorrows in the absence of them, ultimately these Ajjanis hurls into the vicious cycles of Bhavarnnava/ocean of worldly existence. The Karmanishta/Bhramanishta, observance of austerities, disciplines, celibacy, vow, Shamadhamadhi, Athmavichara, Swadhyaya, meditation, and contemplation, etc. and the performance of religious and spiritual rites for the welfare of the universe, and Eshwaraththa, would remove the Jeeva from the Sarvakarma/the Jeeva gets freed from all the Karma with the knowledge of ‘self’ and get liberated from the vicious cycles of rebirth. The Yogi is Sarvakarma Phalathyagi/ has neither performs the deeds nor earn for the fruitful results of the Karma, remain serene, and immerses in the contemplation and meditation upon the all-pervasive supreme Bhramam/ Purusha and achieve union with it. Oh! Devi, I shall describe the piousness of Sri Guru Gita, whoever reads, or listens, or write these glorious verses with intense devotion and faith would achieve all the devoutness. Oh! Devi, whoever meditates and contemplates upon Guru Gita with a calm mind would get rid of grief from the Mahavyadhi/incurable illnesses. Oh! Devi, every single word in Guru Gita is equivalent to Mahamanthra, Oh! Priye, all those sacred verses cannot bring the piousness of one-sixteenth of Guru Gita. The recitation and reading Guru Gita would provide commendable virtues, Oh! Devi, it would remove all the sins/Sarvapapahara and the sufferings of poverty/Sarva Dharidhryanashini. It removes the accidental and untimely deaths and destroys the evil effects and threats from the Yaksha, Rakshasa, Bhootha, thieves, and wild animals. Whoever reads or listen to the glorious verses of Guru Gita achieves the meritorious reward of the perpetual grace of the Preceptor, it destroys all the evil effects, it removes the incurable diseases like leprosy, and critical illnesses, it destroys all those Mahavyadhi and provides Sarvaishwarya/welfare, richness, fame, and prosperity, including Mohanam and Vashyam. Oh! Devi, the recitation of Guru Gita should be conducted seated on the Kusha or Dhurvagrass, following strict austerities, or seated on the sanctified place or seat, and the recitation of these verses with intense faith and devotion would provide magnanimous results. Oh! Priye, it is advisable to be seated on the Shubhrasana/sanctified place or read colored seat for Vashya, but seated on the highly recommended Padmasana posture and conduct the chant of these glorious verses on a regular basis would provide commendable rewards, the serenity of mind and Vashya as well.”
