Sri Guru Gita – Sri Skandhapuranam Uththarakhanda Umamaheshwara Samvadham – Chapter 2 – The awful consequences of disrespect to preceptor/Gurunindha

Chapter – 3 – Sri Guru Gita – 21 – 30

Lord Mahadeva speaks “ Oh! Mahadevi, the preceptor removes the eight types of bondages/Pashashtaka that throttle the Jeeva in the worldly existence, with his compassion like Khadga/sword of mercy, and lead his disciple to the supreme state of bliss. The preceptor enlightens the soul with the knowledge of Paramathma Parambhramam resides as soul, which is eternal, pure, unblemished, bliss, has neither birth nor death, is indestructible Purusha and destroys 1) the interest in worldly matters and bondage which causes constant sorrows and miseries,  2) the impurities of Kama, Krodha, Lobha, Moha, Madha, and Mathshcharya,  and  3) Thapathraya/  Adhidheivika, Adhibhauthika, and Adhyathmika Thapa and 4) body and I consciousness,  that destroys the peace and tranquility of the mind.” Devi Mahadevi who was dutifully listening to Mahadeva appealed to explain the dreadful consequences of disrespect towards the preceptor/Gurunindha.

Lord Mahadeva continues “Oh! MahaDevi, the Jeeva who acts disrespectfully towards his Preceptor would undergo hellish torture till the Surya and Chandra exist/Kalpantha. Oh! Devi, Jeeva should sincerely worship and remember the preceptor till the end of Kalpa, as long the Jeeva assumes the body, it should not forget the mercy of the preceptor, even if the Jeeva is Thatastha/free from Dhvandhabhava/likes and dislikes, respect and disrespect, sorrow and happiness, free from worldly matters and bondage, freely and fearlessly roam around the world like a Yogi. Oh! Devi, the disciple should not utter any word of Ahamkara/pride, or raise their voices in the presence of Preceptor, and should not utter lies before the Preceptor. The person who disrespects the preceptor by words or deeds, or unnecessarily argue before the preceptor would take birth as Bhramarakshass in the desert and crave for water, looking at the reflection of water in the sunrays. The perception of ‘Oneness-in-all’, Sarvam Bhramamayam is applicable in all circumstances except in the absence of Preceptor, the disciple should be free from Adhvaithabhavana/ amiable and devoted to Preceptor who is nothing other than the supreme Lord Bhrama, Vishnu and Rudra. The worship at the lotus feet of Guru, and recitation of Gurumanthra, and sincere service to Guru would remove the interest in worldly matters and bondage, it would remove the interest in infinite Nama, Roopa, Dhrishya in the Prakrithi and the disciple should continue to do it until he/she gets relieved from the illusion/Maya/interest in worldly matters and bondage, otherwise, it is impossible to achieve Kaivalya/ Moksha. The Jeeva who is profound in all the philosophies, Shashthra, Ithihasa, Purana, but afar from the Preceptor would not be freed from the Vikshepa/perplexity at the end of death. Oh! Devi, the preceptor is Supreme Lord, therefore the Jeeva should not disrespect or overrule the commands of the preceptor, and the disciple should not observe any of the rite or austerities without the permission of the preceptor, and it is compulsory to begin his/her day remembering or prostrating before the direction where the Preceptor is seated. The disciple should not take the role of a Preceptor while he is alive, and should not give any Upadhesha/command to the people in the presence of Preceptor, until and unless obtaining the permission of the preceptor, if so, he would take birth as a demon.”
