– 18 – Sri Vinaya Patrika – Sri Lakshman Sthuthi
Sri Tulsidas Maharaj “Oh! My beloved Lord
Lakshman, you are most promising to your devotees, mere remembrance of your
names would destroy all the troubles of the Jeeva. You symbolize auspiciousness,
you are the destroyer of the grief of righteous, noble souls and distressed people.
You are the protector of Earth, you are the destroyer of the burden of mother
Earth, you are extremely valorous, you are an incarnation of Sheshanaga/Adhishesha.
You are a strict follower of vow, promises, austerities, and truth. You are
righteous, and pure-hearted, and perform deeds and utter words of truthfulness.
You have a charming appearance, you are wielded in bow and arrows, you are
extremely valorous, and unconquerable in the battlefields. You always sing in
praise of Janakinatha Lord Sri Ramachandra who is most promising to his sincere
attendants, Mahabalashali, and virtuous. You are beloved of virtuous Bharatha,
you are fond of Devi Sumithra and Devi Janaki, you resemble most affectionate Chathaka
of Ramaroopi dark clouds, you are the dearest consort of Devi Urmila, and you symbolize the wealth of devotion to Rama, I am Tulasidas penniless of devotion, kindly shower
the wealth of intense devotion and faith at the lotus feet of Lord Sri
Ramachandra.”
Sri Tulsidas Maharaj continues “Victory to
Lord Lakshman! Oh! Bhagavan, you
symbolize Adhishesha, the storehouse of six kinds of virtues, protector of Prithvi,
you are the King of serpent incarnated as the younger brother to Lord Rama. You are
the Lord of the Universe, you are the destroyer of the burden of Mother Earth. You resemble
the Pralayakalagni/the blazing fire at the time of deluge, you are the
destroyer of worldly existence, and natural calamities like Anavrishti/drought
and famine, and Athivrishti/flood, epidemics, etc. You are independent, assumes
various forms at your will. Victory to the son of illustrious King Dhashratha! You
are extremely valorous on the battlefields, you are the beloved son of Devi
Sumithra, you are the destroyer of enemies, you are an affectionate brother of
Lord Rama and Bharatha. Your attractive and lustrous limb has the appearance of
the flowers of Champa. You are adorned in exquisite ornaments and attired in marvelous
clothes, you resemble the ocean of beauty. You are the provider of delight to
Sage Vishwamithra, Maharishi Gautama, and Janaka, you are the destroyer of
innumerable haughty demons. Victory to Lakshman! You always walk behind Rama,
you tactfully destroyed the pride of Parashuram. You always immerse at the
service of lotus feet of Seethapathi Lord Sri Ramachandra, you entirely freed from the Vishaya Rasanuraga,/interest in worldly matters and bondage,
body and I consciousness. You are unblemished, pure, righteous, and sincerely
follow the vows of Rama, and tirelessly serve Rama, and strictly follow Dharma
and Truth. Victory to the most powerful and courageous Lord Lakshman! You are
mighty Lord, you are fearless like the lion, you have crushed the
pride of Meghanatha on the battlefield. You are too efficient to cross the
Samudraroopi battlefields effortlessly. Your powerful arms are protective and
always immerses in the service to Lord Ramachandra. You are the beloved consort of
Devi Urmila, you are the abode of auspiciousness, Oh! Bhagavan, you are the
destroyer of sins of Tulsidas, Victory to Lakshman!”
