Bhavabhaya Dharunam
Sri Tulsidas Maharaj speaks “Oh! Mind,
meditate upon the Supreme Lord Sri Ramachandra, who is the ocean of mercy/
Kripalu, he is the ultimate asylum to liberate the Jeeva from the vicious
cycles of repeated births, he protects the Jeeva from fears, anguish and
sufferings of worldly existence. His beautiful eyes have the resemblance of
freshly blossomed blue lotus flower, his attractive face has the luster of a red lotus flower, his hands and feet are soft and supple like the red lotus
flowers, he has mesmerizing appearance excels the loveliness of crores of
Kamadeva, he has the complexion of freshly formed rain clouds, he is attired in
marvelous yellow silk garment resembles the lightning, on the dark cloud
complexioned body. I shall repeatedly prostrate before the Pavanroopi
Janakipathi Sri Ramachandra. Oh! Mind, contemplate upon the supreme Lord
Ramachandra who is the companion of distressed people/Dheenabandhu, he has the
radiance of Aditya, he is the destroyer of Dhanava and Dhaithya clan, he is the
source of supreme bliss/Anandhakandha, he resembles full moon on the
Koshaladhesharoopi sky, therefore Oh! Mind, meditate upon the
Dhasharathanandhan Sri Ramachandra. He is adorned in magnificent gem-studded
crown, his ears are decorated with the Makarakundala, his forehead is adorned
in fragrant sandalwood paste and Kumkum, his body is decorated with various
ornaments of precious yellow metal that spread intense radiance, he has long
hands stretched up to knees, he is wielded in bow and arrow, he has killed the demons
Khara and Dhushana along with his numerous armies of demons. Oh! Mind,
contemplate upon that supreme Lord Sri Ramachandra, he is the provider of bliss to
Lord Shiva, Adhishesha, Sages, and Rishis, he destroys the impurities of the mind
such as Kama, Krodha, Lobha, Madha,
Moha, Mathshcharyaroopi enemies of the Jeeva. Oh! Sri Raghunath, I am Tulasidas
earnestly pray to reside in the lotus-like heart of mine, so that I get
relieved from the impurities of the mind, body, and I consciousness, interest in
worldly matters, possession, richness, fame, money, wealth, attachment to wife,
children, relatives and companion that has impermanent nature.”
