– 20 – Sri Vinaya Pathrika – Sri Seetha Sthuthi
Sri Tulsidas Maharaj speaks “ Oh! Mother,
Oh! Amba, kindly shower your compassionate grace upon me and inform Sri
Raghunatha about the wretched state of Tulasidas, so that I will get protected
from the sufferings of worldly existence, I will get freed from the interest in
worldly matters and bondage, body and I consciousness, impurities of mind such
as the Kama, Krodha, Lobha, Moha, Madha, and Mathscharya, and attachment to material
matters, richness, wealth, money, fame, possession, children, wife, relatives
and companion, and the constant sufferings, pain of separation in the absence
of above. Oh! Mother, kindly let Sri Ramachandra know about this sinner
Tulasidas who has impure intellect drenched in Kama, Krodha, Moha, Lobha, Madha
and Mathshcharya, interest in worldly matters and bondage, swollen with body
and I consciousness, and have not practiced any austerities/Sathyam, Dhaya,
Shaucham, Dhama, Shamam, or Swadhyaya, Athmavichara, etc. exhausted and distressed, introducing myself
as a devotee of the devotees of Rama, filling stomach singing in praise of Sri
Ramachandra. Oh! Mother, kindly inform Lord Rama about all the details of mine,
and the miserable state as well. Sri Ramachandra is the ocean of mercy, I am
confident, he would remove all my suffering of worldly existence. Oh! Jagath
Janani Janaki, Oh! Devi, if you shower compassionate grace upon me, and inform
the hopeless state of Tulasidas to Lord Ramachandra, I could achieve sincere devotion at his lotus feet, thereby I shall continue the practice of singing in
praise of Rama and easily cross the unfathomable ocean of the worldly existence/Bhavasagara.”
Sri Tulasidas Maharaj continues “Oh! Matha,
Oh! Devi Janaki, whenever you get an opportunity to be with Rama, leisurely
inform him the wretched state of Tulasidas. I am his sincere servant, always
engaged in reciting his sacred names, I am holding the life/Prana for him like
the Chakora yearning to consume the droplets from the sky. I am yearning to
drench in the Bhakthirasa of that Lord, who is Karunanidhan, pleasant and
compassionate, he is magnanimous, does not remember the charities performed, he
does not remember the wickedness of the enemies as well, therefore I am quite
sure that he will not remember sins of his devotees, he forgets all the wrong-doing
of his devotees, does not expect anything from them, and sympathetic to all the
Jeeva. Oh! Matha kindly tells him not to forget the distressed Tulsidas, I have
no shelter other than him. I have completely surrendered by words, thought, and
deeds at the lotus feet of Sri Ramachandra.”
