Chapter -69 -Sri Vinaya Patrika  - The significance of Athmajjana/knowledge  of self -Paramarththa Thaththva/Athmajjanam to remove the Avidhya Janitha Maya of Samsara - Jeevathma is Paramathma

Sri Tulsidas Maharaj speaks “Oh! Hari, I do not know any Sadhana, austerities, vow, Swadhyaya, Shamadhamadhi, etc. which could remove the impurities of Kama, Krodha, Lobha, Moha, Madha, Mathshcharya, and ignorance. I am unfortunate, I have not taken the medicine to cure the interest in worldly matters and bondage, Ahamkara and Mamakara, and impurities of the mind. The Ajjanajanitha dosha/sins committed in ignorance cannot be cured without the knowledge of Paramarththa Thaththva, like the King had the dream of Bhramahathya after killing a twice-born conducted several thousands of Ashwamedha to get rid of the sin, but he could not get the serenity of mind even after performing crores of Yaga, the sufferings of Bhramahathya sin will not get disappeared until the King get out of the sleep, likewise, the Ajjanajanitha /Mahamoha, interest in worldly matters and bondage, Ahamkara and Mamakara cannot be destroyed without the knowledge of the destructible nature of Prakrithi and the indestructible Purusha resides as a soul in the Jeeva. The false idea of the serpent in the flower garland creates trepidation, the Avidhya Maya Janitha Sarpa is not real, hence whatever weapons used to pull out the snake from the flower garland will not work, in this way, the Ajjanajanitha Avidhya Maya cannot be destroyed without the knowledge of Paramarththa Thaththva. The Athmajjana/knowledge of self removes the interest in worldly matters and bondage, attachment to material matters, richness, wealth, money, fame, and people that have fleeting nature. The Samsara is Mayajanitha Mrigathrishna, the illusion that caused the ocean in the reflection of sunlight in the desert, the ignorant Jeeva chases after it and get killed off thirst. In the same manner, the ignorant Jeeva chases after material wellbeing, attachment to wife, children, relatives, and companion, with the hope that everything stays safe and sound till the end of the Kalpa, without the knowledge of impermanent nature of the living and non-living things in the Universe, in the meantime, get battered with the loss of wealth, fame and beloved people. The Samsara is a Mithyasagara/ an illusion caused by the bottomless ocean, the ignorant Jeeva who is drenched in the interest in worldly matters and bondage, Ahamkara, and Mamakara cannot cross the ocean and finally meets miserable death. Oh! Manushya, if you perform thousands and crores of Yajja, Japa, Thapa, Sadhana, with the Mamakara and Ahamkara, it is certain that you cannot cross the ocean of Samsara, ultimately hurl yourself into the vicious cycles of rebirth.”

Sri Tulsidas Maharaj continues “Oh! Raghuraya, Oh! Dhayalu, you are most promising to your devotees, Oh! Prabho, it is impossible to get rid of interest in worldly matters and bondage, Ahamkara and Mamakara, impurities of the mind, without your compassionate grace. Oh! Prabho, the simple earthen lamp lit in the night removes the darkness in the entire room, but the long hours of lectures of intellectuals on the various Shashthra cannot help to cross the ocean of worldly existence without the knowledge of Athmajjanam/Paramarththa Thaththva, knowledge of self. It would be like the person who is extremely tired of hunger, cannot appease with the letters of Kalpavruksha and Kamadhenu written on the floor. The practice of learning various Shastra without the knowledge of self would be like the hungry person giving description on Shadrasa of the meal/sumptuous meal day and night, instead of this, the person who had a simple meal without giving a description of it would be far more contented. Therefore, the knowledge in various Shastras and Puranas achieved without the Athmajjana/knowledge of self, Paramathma Parambhramam reside as soul, oneness-in-all, won’t help the Jeeva to cross the ocean of worldly existence. Oh! Tulsidas, the Athmajjana, /knowledge of self, the knowledge of all-pervasive Bramham resides as the soul is the source of the functioning of the mind, intellect, Ahamkara, Chiththa, Karma, Gnanendhriyas, the knowledge of Jeevathma is  Paramathma who is indestructible Purusha would remove the illusion and impurities of the mind. Otherwise, the ignorant Jeeva hurl into different Yonis, takes several births, and undergo sufferings and sorrows of worldly existence.”
