-46 -Sri Vinaya Patrika - Sharanagathi
Sri
Tulsidas Maharaj speaks “Oh! Ram, you are beloved of Devi Sri Janaki, you are
the essence of the Universe and its living beings, you are that all-pervasive supreme
Bramham resides as a soul in the Jeeva, which is the sole source of the functioning
of the mind, intellect, Chithth, Karma, Gnanaendhriyas, Panchaprana, etc. you
are most promising to the Universe, you are the creator, preserver, and destroyer
of the Universe, you are the Lord of Universe, Oh! Raghukulanatha, you have the marvelous
appearance, and beautiful eyes resemble lotus flower petals, your lovely face
has the luster of the autumn moon, you are most pleasing to all. Oh! Bhagavan,
Goddess Sri Mahalakshmi is always at your service, you have attractive blue
lustrous limbs that excel the loveliness of crores of Manmatha. Oh! Bhagavan,
you are the preserver of the Universe, you are Matha, Pitha, Guru, Bandhu, Mithra,
to the Jeeva. You are Dheenabandhu, and always promising even to your enemies.
You are the destroyer of afflictions, troubles, and provide the safest asylum to
your devotees, you are benevolent, Kripalu, and Sharanagatha Rakshaka. Oh!
Bhagavan, the recitation of Ramanama purifies the Jeeva, removes the impurities
of Kama, Krodha, Lobha, Moha, Madha, Mathshcharya, Mamakara, and Ahamkara, trepidations,
false perceptions and it encourages the Jeeva to undertake austerities, vow,
disciplines, Swadhayaya, Athmavichara, Shamadhamadhi, etc. Oh! Bhagavan, the whole
world worships you, and all the deities are at your service, Veda, and Shastras
eulogize your endless glories, Oh! Bhagavan, after seeing all these, Tulsidas
has become your slave, kindly purifies me and do not put me on the test.”
Sri
Tulsidas Maharaj continues “Oh! Sri Ram, you are the provider of bliss to the
distressed people, there is no one as compassionate and kind as you, a distressed
cannot provide bliss to others, so I have taken shelter in you. There are
several commanders for Manshy, Naga, Devatha, Muni, Rakshasa, but all of them
remain safe until and unless you are promising to everyone. You are unconquerable,
none can stand against your will, Oh! Bhagavan, it is a well-known fact in
three worlds and three Kala, the four Vedas eulogizes your glories as Adhi
Madhyantha Rahitha. Oh! Ram, you are the supreme Lord, who is the creator, preserver,
and the destroyer at the end of Kalpa. Whoever wants to beg for alms should get
alms from you, if so, they need not go begging alms again. Oh! Bhagavan,
whoever taken shelter at your lotus feet would achieve permanent bliss, will
not chases after the material matters of richness, wealth, money, fame,
possession, attachment to wife, children, relatives, and companions that have
fleeting nature. Oh! Bhagavan, I have heard of your endless glories, promising
and compassionate nature, therefore I have rushed at your lotus feet seeking
alms. Oh! Bhagavan, you have removed the curse on Gautama Pathni Devi Ahalya at
the touch of your lotus feet and liberated her. You have provided shelter to
the Vanaras and Jambavan, Pakshiraj Jatayu, Kakabhushundi, you have removed the
curse of sons of Kubera by releasing them from the Yamalarjjuna tree, you have
performed the last rite of Pakshiraj Jatayu and liberated him. Oh! Maharaj,
Dhasharathaputhra, you have honored people from the lowly clan, you have crowned
Vibheeshna as the King of Lanka, Sugreevah as the King of Kishkindha, you have showered
love on lowly clan Guha and considered him as equal to Bharatha. Oh! Bhagavan,
you are the Lord of desolate people, I am Tulsi have taken shelter at your
lotus feet. Oh! Kripalu, kindly tell this slave once ‘Tulsidas is mine”/Tulsidas Mero".
