Chapter - 108 -Sri Vinaya Pathrika –
Sri Tulsidas Maharaj speaks “Oh! Prabho,
Oh! Sri Ramachandra, if I have practiced devotion/Ananyabhakthi and love at
your lotus feet, I would have got rid of the Thapathraya/Adhidheivik/sufferings
caused by natural calamities, drought, famine, epidemic etc., Adhbhauthik/grief
caused by attachment to wealth, people and possession and Adhyathmik/ grief
caused by aging, illness and fear of death, or I won’t be pushed to extreme
grief and agony day and night. Oh! Prabho, if I have experienced serenity at
least once in day or night or in dreams, will I run after the Samsararoopi
Mrigathrishna that are exactly like the animal chases after the reflection of water in the
desert, and finally get exhausted and die of thirst?. Oh! Prabho, if I have practiced
devotion or singing in praise of the glories of Lakshmikantha, meditate and
contemplate upon you, will I stand before door to door and fill my stomach?
Like the street dog search for its food. Whoever drenched in worldly matters,
lust and desires are slaves, and the Jeeva who have taken shelter at the lotus
feet of Lord Sri Ramachandra is the selfless servant, easily get rid of
Thrividha Thapa. Oh! Prabho, I haven’t practiced devotion, or singing in praise
of your glories, all that I have practiced reciting your sacred name ‘Rama’,
Oh! Nath, kindly shower your mercy upon this Tulsidas for reciting your sacred
names and provide Ananyabhakthi, so that I would get rid of impurities of Kama, Krodha, Lobha, Moha, Madha, Mathshcharya, excessive interest in Shabdha/sound, Sparsha/touch, Rasa/taste, Roop/appearance, and Gandha/smell of Samsara, eventually get freed from the vicious cycles of rebirth.”
