Chapter - 95 -Sri Vinaya Patrika - The significance
of the recitation of Ramanama for getting rid of redundant
thoughts and achieve serenity
Sri Tulsidas Maharaj speaks “Oh! Ram, Oh!
Janakinath, your virtues, and kindness are widely spoken in the four Yugas, whom
did you leave to protect? You have protected all those Jeeva who have taken
shelter at your lotus feet. Oh! Prabho, Lord Bhrama, and deities, along with Mother Earth appealed before you to reduce her burden. You have personified
as Sri Ramachandra in the Suryavamsha, to spread happiness in the lotus-like
clan of Raghu, and dispersed nectar-like cool rays of Chandra. Oh! Prabho, you
have killed the female demon Thataka in the forest, thus sincerely followed the
promise to your preceptor, eventually liberated the wicked Thataka from the
Samsara, in this way, your Krodharoopi Kripa did a favor to your enemy. Oh!
Prabho, you have walked towards Gauthama Pathni Devi Ahalya who was bearing curse
remained rock for several years, was liberated at the touch of dust particles
from your fingertip. Oh! Prabho, you have protected King Janaka from the grief
and anxiousness of Dhanushyajja, you have broken the Shivadhanuss and wedded Devi
Janakaja. Oh! Prabho, you have crushed the pride of Parashurama who was drenched
in Ahamkara and Mamakara, finally achieved the serenity of mind. Oh! Prabho,
you have sincerely followed the command of your father Dhasharatha and Mother
Kaikeyi, and left the Kingdom of Ayodhya. Oh! Prabho, who is Dharmadhurandhara/righteous,
Dheerajadhari/valorous, Sadhguna/virtuous, and Sheelasampanna/disciplined like
you in this Universe? There is no one superior to you, in virtues, righteousness,
valor, and discipline. Oh! Prabho, Guha who was born in the lowly clan,
consumed meat of all creatures was achieved your nearness, transformed himself
as a sincere devotee of you, achieved an abundance of piousness, became your
sincere companion. Oh! Prabho, Shabari, and Geedh/Jatayu achieved your nearness
and attained Paramapadha. Oh! Prabho, Sugreevah who was the younger brother to Bali
was exiled from Kishkindha took shelter in the dense wood, was gloomy and
helpless, has achieved the nearness of you and got rid of grief, and regained the
lost glories. Oh! Prabho, Vibheesha an ardent devotee of you was humiliated by
his elder brother Ravana, and expelled from the Kingdom of Lanka was taken
shelter at your lotus feet, later he regained all those lost glories and
crowned as the King of Lanka. Oh! Prabho, the ignorant Dhobhi in the Ayodhya
achieved liberation with the recitation of Ramanama, and Ananyabhakthi, which
is difficult to achieve even for the Mahamuni who constantly engages in the
discussions and debate on Athman. There is
no creation of Lord Bhrama, left out from achieving liberation by the utterance
of Ramanama. Parvathivallabha Lord
Mahadeva constantly recites the ‘Ramanama’ and utter the same in the ears of
the Jeeva who left mortal coil in the Anandhavana/Kashi. Who was not got inspired by listening to the
story of the twice-born Ajamila? Who has missed achieving the Paramdham of
Lord Hari by the utterance of Ramanama in the Kali era? The Veda and Scriptures
strongly affirm that the recitation of Ramanama would transform even the toxic
tree to Kalpavruksha. If you do not believe the above, look at
Tulsidas who was drenched in material matters and people in all his life was taken shelter at the lotus feet of Lord Sri Ramachandra, achieved intense devotion with
the practice of the utterance of Ramanama.”
