Chapter – 142 -Sri Vinaya Patrika  – The fifteen practices to achieve Bhagavathprapthi/free from the grief of Samsara and Samsarachakra

Sri Tulsidas Maharaj “Oh! Mind, leave your Ahamkara and Mamakara and take shelter at the lotus feet of Bhagavathroopi preceptor, the service to preceptor would provide nearness to Anandhadhan Bhagavan Sreehari. Oh! Mind, it is impossible to achieve the grace of Lord Srihari without pure love and devotion, although the supreme Bhramam reside as a soul in the heart which is the sole source of the functioning of the mind, intellect, Chiththa, Ahamkara, Karma, and Gnanendhriyas, etc.  1) The foremost step of the Sadhana is the practice of pure love and devotion at the lotus feet of Lord Sri Ramachandra.  2) The second step of the sadhana is to leave the false perception and Dhvandhabhava/ dualities, Jeevathma is none other than Paramathma, and all the living and non-living things are the essences of supreme Bramham, and freely take up journey all over the Earth. The Supreme Lord Raghunath resides in the heart of Jeeva who is free from fears and anxieties, grief, and lust and desires/Shoka, Moha, Maya, Bhayarahitha, Ahamkara and Mamakara.  3) The third step of Sadhana is the Lakshminath Bhagavan Lord Sri Hari is Paramapurusha beyond Trigunas/Sathvik, Rajasik, and Tamasik, hence the nearness to that Lord Mukunda possible only if the Jeeva is free from the interest in Thrigunamayi Prakrithi/Ahamkara and Mamakara, otherwise it is impossible to achieve supreme bliss. The Jeeva who is drenched in the material matters, richness, wealth, money, fame, possession, attachment to family, children, wife, relatives and companions constantly undergo grief and sufferings in the absence of them, hence as long as the Jeeva is under the seize of Shoka, Moha, Maya, Bhaya, the achievement of Paramathmaroopi supreme bliss is impossible, the knowledge of self/Jeevathma is indestructible Purusha, and meditation and contemplation removes the impurities of Shoka, Moha, Maya, Bhaya, that would bring the Moksharoopi Paramanandha. 4) The fourth method of Sadhana is the performance of righteous deeds by words, mind, and Kriya, abandoning Ahamkara and Mamakara, it would remove the impurities of Kama, Krodha, Lobha, Moha, Madha and Mathshcharya, to perceive that Athmaroopi Sacchidhanandhaghanaswaroopa Paramathma.  5) The fifth Sadhana is abandon the interest in infinite Shabdha, Saparsha, Rasa, Roopa, and Gandha, and interest in worldly matters, the Jeeva who take great pleasure in the infinite Nama Rooopa Dhrishya get thrown into the Samsararoopi deep well of ignorance and Samsarachakra.  6) The sixth Sadhana is abandon the enemies of Kama, Krodha, Lobha, Moha, Madha, and Mathshcharya to achieve the nearness of Janakinath Sri Ramachandra, and without the grace of that supreme Lord it is impossible to get rid of the impurities of the mind. 7) The seventh Sadhana is pondering over the rarest birth as a human which is made up of Sapthadhathu /Rasa, Rakth, Mamsa, Medha, Asthi, Majja, and Shukra, it is extremely difficult to achieve, Apavithra/impure, and Kshanbangura/fleeting nature. The fruitfulness of the achievement of the rarest birth as a human is to employ it for the welfare of the Universe and its living beings. 8) The eighth Sadhana is to understand that the supreme Lord Sri Ramachandra is Apara Shakthi, beyond Prithvi, Jal, Vayu, Thej, Agni, Akasha, Man, Buddhi, Chithth, Ahamkara, etc. hence, if you want to attain the nearness of that supreme Bhramam/Apara Shakthi, that is pure bliss, unblemished, free from afflictions, and has no birth and death/fear, so it is essential to get rid of impurities and illusion. 9) The ninth Sadhana is striving for Athmakalyana/Thaththvichara/Athmamanthan while living in the human body made of nine gates/Navadhvarapuri, engage in austerities, Shama, Dhama, Shaucham, Sathyam, Dhaya, Dhanam, Arjjavam, Astheyam, Bhramacharya, Ahimsa, etc. get rid of impurities of Kama, Krodha, Lobha, Moha, Madha, and Mathshcharya, Ahamkara and Mamakara. 10)The tenth Sadhana is practice control over Dasha Indhridyas, thereby achieve perfect control over the interest in infinite Shabdha, Sparsh, Rasa, Roopa, and Gandha. The Jeeva who has no control over any of the above-mentioned Nama Roopa Dhrishya, all those Sadhana practiced would go unfruitful, and impossible to achieve Bhgavathprapthi.  11) The eleventh Sadhana is take up selfless service to Lord Sri Hari and his devotees to get perfect control overs sense, it would release the Jeeva from the grief of Samsara and Janana Marana Chakra. 12) The twelfth Sadhana is always working for the welfare of the Universe and its living beings, it would remove the grief and sufferings of the Samsara like Ekadashi stands for austerities, and Dwadhashi emphasizes the performance of Charity. 13) The thirteenth Sadhana is contemplating and meditating upon the Supreme Lord on the three states of Jagrath/awaken, Swapna/dream, and Sushupthi/sleep, like the Thrayodhashi emphasizes the contemplation and meditation of Lord Mahadeva day and night.  The practice of meditation and contemplation/Ananya Bhakti would bring the Kripa of the all-pervasive Supreme Lord, although the Jeevathma is Paramathma like the ice holds water in it, and the tiny seed holds the huge tree, leaves, flowers, and fruit in it. Oh! Jeeva, the constant meditation and contemplation helps to perceive the all-pervasive Bramham resides as a soul in you. 14) The fourteenth Sadhana is the knowledge of the all-pervasive Bhramam, and Oneness in all, get rid of the Dhvandhabhava and perceive that Paramathma in all the living and non-living things, the omnipresent Bhramam represents living and non-living things in the Universe. As long as the Bedhabudhdhi continues, it is impossible to achieve the grace of supreme Lord Raghunath, or get rid of the sufferings of Samsara. 15) The fifteenth Sadhana is the worship of Lord Sri Hari with pure devotion and faith, and completely surrender at the lotus feet of Lord, to achieve the Paramarththa Thaththva, the all-pervasive supreme Bhramam resides as a soul in the Jeeva is pure, unblemished, bliss, changeless, has neither birth nor death. The Prakrithi / material matters of infinite Nama, Roopa Dhrishya has fleeting nature, hence they cannot provide permanent bliss, as simple as the impermanent material matters cannot provide permanent bliss. This Paramarththa Thaththva would bring the serenity of mind, oneness-in-all, removes Ahamkara and Mamakara as well. The knowledge of self/Jeevathma is Paramathma would remove Dhaivik, Dheihik, and Bhauthik Thapa/Thapathraya of the Jeeva.”

Sri Tulsidas Maharaj continues “Oh! Jeeva, if you want to achieve Bhagavathprapthi, and get rid of the sufferings of Samsara and Samsarachakra, follow the above-mentioned fifteen methods of Sadhana. The Veda, Purana, illustrious Rishis and Sages, recommend the meditation and contemplation upon the supreme Lord is the only way to achieve the serenity of mind and get rid of Thapathraya and Samsara Chakra. Oh! Jeeva, you have achieved the rarest birth as a human and the fruitfulness of it to engage in the austerities for Bhagavath Prapathi, and get rid of the grief of Samsara/Bhavabhaya, and make sure not to hurl into Garbhavasa Dhukham again and again. The worship of Lord Hari, meditation, and contemplation would remove the false perception, dualities, fear, and anxieties.  Oh! Jeeva, the Sadhana is impossible to achieve without the grace of Lord Hari, preceptors, Santh Mahathma, hence take shelter in the association of Sadhu Santh Mahathma, undertake austerities, get rid of impurities of the mind. The lotus feet of preceptor and Santh Mahathma resembles the safest ferry to cross the unfathomable ocean of Samsara/Bhavasagara. Oh! Tulsidas, get on the ferry of Santh Mahathma, serve them relentlessly to achieve nearness to supreme Lord Sri Ramachandra, thereby get rid of grief of worldly existence and repeated births as well.”
