Chapter - 114 -Sri Vinaya Pathrika  – The significance of association with the Mahatmas/Sadhusangam - Ahamkara and Mamakara is Anjjan/charcoal that takes away the eyesight

Sri Tulsidas Maharaj speaks “The Jeeva who have no faith and devotion on Seethapathi Lord Sriram should be abandoned like crores of enemies, even if they are closely related. Whoever creates a hindrance to Bhagavath Prapthi, stand against the devotion and selfless service to Lord and his devotees should be discarded forever, like the way, 1) Prahaladha who refused to follow the instructions of his arrogant father Hiranyakashipu to recite his names, and continued to practice the devotion of Lord Hari 2) Vibheeshana who is an ardent devotee of Lord Vishnu was humiliated by his brother Ravana and exiled from Lanka for his appeal to give back Devi Janaki to Rama. 3) Bharatha who is Bhagavathoththama, a staunch devotee of Lord Rama was badly hurt by the wickedness of his mother Kaikeyi against Ram and Devi Sita 4) Bali who is a staunch devotee of Lord Hari was instructed by his preceptor Shukracharya, not to believe in the Vatu/Vamana appeared before him, and call off the promise offered for three strides of land to Vamana, was refused by Bali 5) The Vrajagopis considered Krishna as everything/Matha, Pitha, Guru, Dheivam, husband, child, relative and companion, further abandoned their family, children, relatives at the melodious music of the flute, and rushed to meet Krishna on the river banks of Yamuna, they were sincere devotees of Lord, and had intense devotion and faith upon supreme Lord have attained Paramamgathi, hence whoever worships Lord Raghunatha are equally venerable as the supreme Lord and they are true relatives and beloved of Lord Ramachandra. Therefore, do not take pleasure in the Anjjana/charcoal, that take away your eyesight, does not worth to take pleasure in it, the interest in worldly matters, possession, richness, fame, wealth, money, attachment to wife, children, relatives and companion, Ahamkara and Mamakara, excessive interest in infinite Nama, Roopa Dhrishya, Shabdha, Sparsha, Rasa, Roopa, and Gandha, are the charcoal that could take away the eyesight, hence it is good to abandon them forever. Oh! Tulsidas, the achievement of devotion and intense faith upon the lotus feet of Lord Ramachandra is possible only with the association of Mahathma, and Santhbhrindh, they are your well-wishers, they are the most venerable and dearer than life to  Lord Sri Ramachandra.”
