Chapter – 122 -Sri Vinaya Pathrika – Ramanama Mahima in the Kali era
Sri Tulsidas Maharaj speaks “Oh! Ram, Oh! Prabho,
you are the ocean of mercy, Oh! Balihari, the Veda eulogizes your glories, you
are the destroyer of Ahamkara, Mamakara, ignorance, and impurities in the
Jeeva, you are the destroyer of the suffering of the Jeeva. Oh! Prabho, the Santh
Mahathma speaks highly about your magnanimity, you have performed the final
rite of Geedh/Jatayu who was a meat-eater all his life, haven’t performed any
austerities, and you have eaten the fruit that was tasted and offered by
Shabari was born in the lowly clan. Oh! Prabho, you are so kind, always look
for pure love and devotion in the devotees. Oh! Prabho, the Veda,
scriptures, and the Mahatmas highly speak about your virtues and compassion to
the Jeeva who have taken shelter at your lotus feet and affirms that pure
love and devotion are superior to the performance of Thapa, Yajja, Yoga, etc. Oh!
Kripalu, your nobility and generous nature is always remembered and sung in praise
even during the evilness of the Kali era. Oh! Prabho, Tulsi have been drawn to
Mahamoha, illusioned by the infinite Shabdha, Sparsha, Rasa, Roopa, and Gandha,
Ahamkara and Mamakara, I have been attached to material matters, richness,
wealth, money, possession, fame, wife, children, relatives and companions, etc.
that has momentary life. I was ignorant constantly chasing after the material
welfare and bodily pleasure of temporary nature, thus I have forgotten to achieve
the Sacchidhanandhaswaroopa Paramathma Paramambhramam resides as soul, that is
pure, free from impurities, afflictions, birth or death. I haven’t practiced
any austerities, vow, celibacy, Athmavichara, Astheyam, Sathyam, Shaucham,
Dhaya, Dhanam, Ahimsa, Swadhyaya, Dhamam, Shamam, etc. or I did not practice veneration
of you with love and devotion. Oh! Dheenabandhu, I am pretty sure that whoever
taken shelter at your lotus feet with pure love and devotion would not leave
your doorstep without achieving your compassionate grace.”
