Sri Surdas Maharaj – Sri Sur – Vinaya – Pathrika – The unconquerable Maya/illusion of Mayapathi

Chapter – 52 -  Sur -Vinaya – Pathrika – The unconquerable Maya/illusion of Mayapathi

Sri Surdas Maharaj speaks “Oh! Hari, who is not fallen prey to your Maya/illusion? Who has won over your Maya? Lord Rama crushed the pride of the King of the ocean and constructed a vast bridge across the ocean/Sethubandhan. Devarishi Narada was enticed by your Maya, eventually, he lost his austerities and wisdom, and rushed to marry princess Vishwamohini in the large assembly of the King. Lord Shankara was lured by the loveliness of Mohini, one of the incarnations of Lord Sri Hari while churning the ocean for nectar. Duryodhana had hundreds of brothers who possessed equivalent might to him, with no moral grounds, all of them were killed in the epic battle of Kurukshetra. Oh! Prabho, your Maya is unconquerable, she has created a garland of gold and glass pieces, she has equally won over the Santh, Mahathma, noble souls who undertake extreme austerities and vow, observe celibacy, purity, truthfulness, non-violence, charity, kindness, Swadhyaya/reading spiritual texts and Vedas, thereby achieved perfect control over senses, abandoned interest in worldly matters, contemplate and meditate upon supreme Lord Sri Hari, roam all over the Earth fearlessly in extreme bliss,  as well as the wicked and immoral people who are drenched in lust, desire, greed, ego, pride, and jealousy, and constantly chases after material pleasure such as possession, wealth, money, richness, fame, children, wife, companion, relatives, etc. in the same garland. Oh! Prabho, your Maya did not leave the illustrious, noble souls and the wicked as well.”
