Chapter – 64 - Sur -Vinaya – Pathrika – The practice of
devotion to get rid of Thapathraya/three kinds of grief
Sri Surdas Maharaj speaks “Oh! Prabho, you
symbolize the three attributes of Rajasik, Swathik, and Thamasik. The Rajasik natured
arrogance and ignorance did not even leave the mighty demons on the Earth,
hence Hiranyakashipu, Hiranyaksha, Ravana, and Kumbakarnna, brought mass
annihilation to their entire clan. Oh! Prabho, the demons like Keshi, Kamsa, and Chanoora, were extremely haughty, their ill fate brought miserable death to
them and their ashes were merged in the sacred waters of the Yamuna. Oh! Prabho, Shishupala
who was got killed for his uncontrollable arrogance in the Rajasuya Yajja arena
of King Yudhishtira, his soul effortlessly attained the lotus feet of Lord Krishna,
while everyone was watching, a divine light from his body merged at the lotus
feet of Krishna. Oh! Prabho, you have crushed the pride of deities, even Lord Bhrama,
Lord Shankara, Lord Indra, and deities had to dance to the tune of your unconquerable
Maya. Oh! Prabho, whoever taken shelter at your lotus feet would get rid of
impurities of Ahamkara, Mamakara, lust, ego, jealousy, desire, and pride, they
would easily abandon the interest in worldly matters of three kinds of
grief/Thapathraya, and remain in supreme bliss.”
